Modeliranje naglo promenljivih otvorenih tokova

AB  - Osnovna karakteristika naglo promenljivih otvorenih tokova je postojanje velikih gradijenata dubine i protoka. Ove nagle lokalne promene osnovnih veličina toka nastaju kao posledica specifičnih graničnih uslova (spoljašnjih i/ili unutrašnjih). U zoni velikih gradijenata narušene su osnovne pretpostavke na kojima je baziran klasičan matematički model neustaljenog tečenja sa slobodnom površinom. Kao posledica narušavanja tih pretpostavki, pri matematičkom i numeričkom modeliranju razmatranih tokova javljaju se odre|ene teškoće i problemi. U monografiji se ove teškoće i problemi detaljno analiziraju i predlaže jedno od mogućih rešenja za njihovo prevazilaženje.

	U teorijskom delu se, najpre, daje pregled do sada primenjivanih metoda matematičkog modeliranja naglo promenljivih tokova. Opisana su tri pristupa: tzv “shock-fitting” pristup, direktni pristup i metoda pseudoviskoznosti. Potom je dat pregled metoda koje se koriste za numeričko modeliranje izučavanih tokova. To su: Metoda karakteristika, metoda Godunova, Metode konačnih razlika zasnovane na postupku razdvajanja fluksova i Metoda konačnih elemanata. Posebna pažnja je posvećena  direktnom pristupu i eksplicitnoj računskoj shemi iz grupe Metoda konačnih razlika koje daju slaba rešenja – računskoj shemi MacCormack.

	Algoritam rešavanja modelskih jednačina zasnovan na ovoj računskoj shemi proveren je poređenjem rezultata računskog modela sa:
1 – odgovarajućim analitičkim rešenjem (za pojednostavljene slučajeve),
2 – rezultatima merenja autora na fizičkom modelu i
3 – dostupnim rezultatima drugih istraživača.
Pošto kvalitet dobijenih rezultata u slučaju modeliranja naglo promenljivih tokova zavisi od:
1 – izbora oblika u kojem su napisane jednačine matematičkog modela,
2 – toga da li primenjena računska shema poseduje svojstvo konzervativnosti ili ne i
3 – toga da li računska shema pripada grupi tzv. disipativnih ili nedisipativnih shema,

prilikom provere modela posebna pažnja je posvećena analizi svojstva konzervativnosti MacCormack-ove računske sheme i analizi problema oscilatornih rešenja.

	Na kraju je, na primeru jednog prirodnog vodotoka, razmotrena mogućnost primene modela u rešavanju problema iz hidrotehničke prakse.
AB  - Discontinuous flows are the flows in which large gradients arise in both the flow depth and the discharge due to specific external and/or internal boundary conditions. With reference to the discontinuity and through the discontinuity itself, the basic hypotheses, upon which the Saint-Venant shallow water equations are based, are violated. The problems in mathematical and numerical modelling of discontinuous flows arising from this violation, and the specific structure of the appropriate numerical schemes used in solving such problems are discussed in this Thesis.
Three approaches to mathematical modelling of discontinuous flows: shock-fitting, through method and pseudoviscosity method, are presented first. They are followed by a review of numerical methods used in numerical modelling of free-surface flows with discontinuities: the Method of characteristics, the Godunov method, the Finite Difference Methods based on the flux-splitting technique, and the Finite Element Method. Close attention is paid to the approach and the scheme that allows for weak solutions, i.e. to the through method and the Finite Difference Method based on the explicit MacCormack scheme.
The proposed scheme is verified using:
1-  the analytical solutions,
2-  the author's measurement performed on a laboratory rig and
3-  the available measurements of the other authors.
Since the quality of the computational results highly depends on:
1-  the form under which the governing equations are written (conservation or non-conservation form),
2-  the conservative property of the numerical scheme used, and
3-  the diffusive/dispersive character of the scheme,
great attention is paid to the analysis of the conservation property of the MacCormack scheme and the problems regarding the quasi-physical effects of the scheme, such as spurious oscillations in the vicinity of the discontinuity.
Finally, a case study is included to indicate the performance of the proposed model in the engineering practice.

AB  - U radu se najpre razmatraju problemi matematičkog i numeričkog modeliranja tečenja preko širokih pragova u burnom režimu. Ovi problemi su vezani za pojavu nagle lokalne promene dubine uzvodno od pragova (pojavu hidrauličkog skoka) i način proračuna unutrašnjeg graničnog uslova. Za numeričko modeliranje je izabrana računska shema MacCormack. Ona pripada grupi metoda konačnih razlika koje daju tzv. slaba rešenja. Nakon teorijskih razmatranja slede opis laboratorijske instalacije u kojoj je analizirano tečenje preko širokih pragova i prikaz uslova pod kojima su izvedeni eksperimenti. Rezultati eksperimentalnih merenja poslužili su za verifikaciju izabranog računskog modela. Numerički je simuliran jedan eksperiment. Dobijeni rezultati upoređeni su sa rezultatima merenja i dat je odgovarajući komentar.
AB  - The problems in mathematical and numerical modelling of supercritical flows over a sequence of broad-crested weirs are considered first. They arise both from the discontinuity in the water level profile upstream of the weir (i.e. presence of the hydraulic jump) and the treatment of the internal boundary condition. The MacCormack explicit computational scheme is used to model the flows under consideration. It may be classified into the group of finite difference methods that provide for weak solutions, Theoretical considerations are followed by: description of a laboratory flume in which the flows over a sequence of broad-crested weirs were analysed and the presentation of the conditions under which the experiments were performed. Results of measurement are used to verify the proposed numerical model. Only one experiment was simulated. Results of numerical simulation are compared to the results of measurement and an appropriate comment is given.

AB  - U radu se najpre, korišćenjem principa dimenzione analize, razmatra slobodno, nepotopljeno prelivanje preko širokog praga sa pravouglim uzvodnim licem. Potom se, primenom jednačine sila (dinamičke jednačine), izvode uopšteni, teorijski izrazi za određivanje koeficijenta protoka preko širokog praga prvo u kanalu sa nagnutim, a zatim u kanalu sa horizontalnim dnom. Na kraju se vrednosti koeficijenta protoka, dobijene na osnovu rezultata laboratorijskih eksperimenata za tri različita nagiba dna, porede sa ekvivalentnim vrednostima za horizontalno dno i izvode odgovarajući zaključci o uticaju nagiba dna na vrednosti koeficijenta protoka C_Q.
AB  - The free flow over a rectangular broad-crested weir is described first, using the basic principles of dimensional analysis. Subsequently, from the momentum equation, general expressions are derived for the discharge coefficients for broad-crested weirs in both sloping and horizontal channels. Then, for three different channel slopes, values of discharge coefficients obtained from experiments in a laboratory flume with adjustable bottom slope are compared with corresponding values in a horizontal channel. Finally, conclusions are proposed about the influence of the bottom slope on the discharge coefficients.
