AB - In the past few decades, demountable connectors have often been used for
connections in composite and mixed steel-concrete structures to reduce
construction time and costs. Furthermore, the application of demountable
connectors enables the reuse of structural elements in these structures, which leads
to sustainable design and a circular economy. In this paper, the demountable
connector is made out of two parts: (1) mechanical coupler and rebar anchor placed
in formwork before casting the concrete element, and (2) steel bolt used for
connecting steel to the RC element. Although this connector is increasingly being
used in contemporary building structures, its behaviour in composite connections is
still insufficiently defined. The paper presents the results of experimental tests and
numerical analysis of the connector with a mechanical coupler, focusing on the local
behaviour of the tapered threaded connection between the mechanical coupler and
rebar anchor.

AB - Adopting sustainability in the construction industry emerged as crucial to achieving the United Na-tions Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs). Rapid growth in the construction sector strains raw material resources such as natural aggregates (NA), possibly leading to their depletion. Furthermore, the growth of construction and demolition waste (CDW) intensifies the global issue of waste management as one of the largest waste streams worldwide. Since concrete is the main constit-uent of CDW, its recycling as aggregate (RCA) emerges as a prominent solution to the above-mentioned problems. On the other hand, potentially hazardous disposal of end-of-life tyres (ELTs) is another increasing waste problem. Incorporating recycled tyre rubber in concrete mixtures as a sub-stitute for natural aggregates is one possible solution. This paper aims to give some insights into the possibility of using crumb rubber (CR) and recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) as alternative aggre-gates in self-compacting concrete (SCC) mixtures. For that purpose, the physical and mechanical properties of prepared SCC mixtures with CR and RCA were evaluated by tests performed on fresh and hardened concrete.

AB - The replacement of natural aggregates (NA) with alternative aggregates in concrete can contribute to the sustainable development of the construction industry. This paper aims to present research investigating the effects of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) and crumb rubber (CR) utilization on the performance of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) mixtures in both fresh and hardened states. For this purpose, SCC mixtures with three different replacement levels of CR - 0%, 20% and 30% by volume for fine aggregate and 100% coarse RCA were prepared along with the reference mixture containing NA only. To assess the effects of NA replacement, the physical and mechanical tests were conducted on prepared SCC mixtures and corresponding results were analysed and compared.

AB - When evaluating modal properties of lively structures as footbridges, numerical modelling
should be used with caution. This is due to model uncertainties mostly related to material
parameters, boundary conditions, the effects of the non-structural elements, and also other
inevitable differences between as-built and designed structures. Differences between the
dynamic behaviour of the as-built structure and the numerical finite element model are best
visible after performing vibration testing and modal properties identification based on
experimentally obtained results. Conclusions regarding reasons for these differences can be
useful for further understanding of vibrational behaviour of footbridge structures and can help
designers in better predicting dynamic properties of such structures in the design stage.
This paper describes a lively full-scale footbridge over the Vrbas river in Banja Luka, Prijecani
sub-area, Serbian Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, its modal properties estimation based on
ambient vibration measurements and numerical modelling.
Identification of modal properties was performed using Ambient Modal Testing applying
Multiple Test Setup Measurement Procedure and Frequency Domain Decomposition method.
The ambient vibration measurement technique for the subject footbridge, which gave a good
quality of the results obtained, is presented.
Analysis of the obtained experimental results is given, as well as their comparison with
numerically estimated values in the finite element model. Despite some irregular features of the
subject footbridge, correlation is obtained, and conclusions are made regarding the effects of
numerical model parameters on structural dynamic properties.

AB - This paper discusses the problem of theoretical and experimental determination of dynamic factors of road bridges. Various parameters influencing the dynamic behavior of bridges are briefly described and a review of regulations in this field is given. Also, an example of the numerical determination of the dynamic amplification factor on a specific bridge structure using dynamic time history analysis in SAP2000 software is presented. Some established methods for the experimental control of the design dynamic amplification on real structures are given, as well as a data and analysis of experimentally obtained results on a series of concrete bridges on the Banja Luka-Doboj highway.

AB - Adding fibre reinforcement to concrete has a beneficial effect on the structural integrity and durability, enables construction cost&time savings. Because of these advantages, fibre reinforced concrete is gaining an increasing interest in development and use both in novel structures, as well as for repair, rehabilitation and strengthening of the existing structures. In order to determine the properties of the fibre reinforced concrete, that are necessary for design according to current guidelines, standardized tests are performed - most often flexural (or bending) test, conducted on the prismatic samples. The paper presents the results and analysis of flexural strength tests of samples made of steel fibres reinforced concrete. This concrete has potential for use in elements of the structures which are under tensile stresses in exploitation.

AB - This paper presents a dynamic behavior analysis of an old cable-stayed footbridge over river Vrbas in Banja Luka. Identification of modal parameters, of this prone to vibrations footbridge structure, was performed using Operational Modal Analysis with Frequency Domain Decomposition method. Experimental test setups and obtained results, compared to the numerical values obtained by FE model updating, are shown. Modal Assurance Criterion was used for the confirmation of the uniqueness of experimentally obtained mode shapes, and also for the comparison of FE model mode shapes to the experimentally obtained ones, in the locations of measurement.

AB - Paper presents research of short-term monitoring of vibration response of turbine table top foundation structure in Power Plant Nikola Tesla - A: unit A4 in Obrenovac – Republic of Serbia.
Research included short-term monitoring of vibration of the structure in ambient and in-operation
condition, numerical modelling of the structure according to available information of masses and
stiffness of structural elements, as well as extraction of mode shapes and operational deflection shapes.
Measurement of vibrations, during in and out of operating conditions, carried at the same set of points on the upper slab of foundation supporting structure using sensitive accelerometers in frequency range of 0 - 300 Hz, while acquisition carried out using 24-bits acquisition system.
Extraction of modes, frequencies and shapes, carried out using state of the art software package
ARTeMIS. The same extraction procedure applied for extraction of deflection shapes according to
acquired acceleration data during in-operation conditions. Numerical modelling performed using SAP2000 software package for structural static and dynamic analysis, with application of beam elements and additional masses with eccentricity from top level of the foundation structure. Additional masses, according to available data of weights of turbines, turbogenerator
and other installed equipment, are taken into account.
Finally, during analysis and comparison of experimental and numerical results, find out quite good
matches of mode shapes and operational deflection shapes, which clearly have been discussed in
conclusion.
