AB - This project reveals surveying data and architectural design of the major church in the Studenica monastery complex in Serbia reflected in a variety of 3D models and the analysis of the church interior and exterior. Architecture-driven computational parametric modeling was done by using two types of data: close range photogrammetry and high precision laser scanning. The modeling, based on geometric parameters and other planimetric and volumetric analysis, is devised
during the four-year study as part of the project Parametric Research of the Studenica Church, a UNESCO Heritage Site, as a Model for Advanced Studies of Medieval Architecture. These models allow for better understanding and representation of the proportional, aesthetic and illumination qualities of the Studenica church and for prototyping procedures for examining other medieval domed churches where we lack more detailed references about their architectural design.

AB - In this research, two non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, thermal vision analysis and image analysis, were implemented for monitoring the surface changes- erosion of mullite based ceramic samples in conditions of cavitation exposure. Thermal imaging analysis was focused on determining temperature line profile at the end of the cavitation experiment. Image analysis is a powerful tool for quantification of degradation level caused by different impacts and conditions. Based
on the results of image analysis, the degradation level during the testing was determined, as well as number of formed pits with their characteristics (average diameter and area). The results performed by both methods were discussed in order to obtain optimal procedure that should be followed for estimating degradation caused by cavitation erosion.

AB - Establishing a wind park presents a complex enterprise, which involves numerous activities, often impossible to synchronize and drive into the appropriate time-frame. Therefore, in some cases, based on reasonable suspicion, a concern arises regarding the quality of already built components of structures. In such cases, the launch of suitable assessment procedures is required. Standards then define proper methods of in-situ assessment of concrete quality. Statistical methods are implemented in the analysis of the concrete components following the strict rules which, if executed correctly by the well-trained personnel of accredited institutions, provide exact and valid insight into the situation. This paper aspires to describe such a procedure on the basis of thorough in-situ investigation and the subsequent analysis. In this study, a large number of 255 core samples were taken from 17 wind tower concrete structure elements – foundations (out of 57 wind towers in total), and the compressive strength of already placed concrete was evaluated based on this set of results. The compressive strength is proved to be a good parameter for evaluating other aspects of concrete quality, mechanical properties, and durability.

AB - Self-compacting concrete (SCC) typically contains a certain content of very fine mineral fillers such as limestone powder. The idea of this study was to partially replace limestone with elemental waste sulfur since it is hydrophobic, insoluble in water and therefore chemically inert in concrete mixtures. Properties of conventional SCC with limestone and several compositions with different sulfur content were compared. Hardened concrete was tested for compressive, flexural and adhesion strengths, dynamic elasticity modulus, specific electrical resistance, density, microstructure and infrared thermography. Results showed slight decline in compressive, flexural and adhesion strengths as well as in dynamic elasticity modulus. Specific electrical resistance and density were higher for samples with sulfur. SEM analysis indicated slight porosity increase for the sample with sulfur. Infrared thermography was applied as a fast method for detecting internal deformations. Having in mind that all properties should remain or improve in case of waste valorization and the criteria should set to satisfy requirements for SCC, this study proved that all mixtures can be used for certain structural applications.

The possibility of using ground waste sulfur from the oil refining (petroleum) industry as a filling component of self-compacting concrete is presented in the paper, based on common concrete laboratory tests. The physical and mechanical properties of self-compacting concrete decrease to some extend due to use of ground sulfur, but this concrete remains useful for some building applications.

AB - Reverse engineering growing trend, particularly in the domain of civil engineering, additionally focused on renewable energy resources, actively follows technological improvements of measuring instruments, as well as processing software solutions, both necessary for an accurate objects’ survey. Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) and photogrammetric methods are contemporary standard for ob-taining very accurate point cloud data, as a base for technical documentation, creation of 3D virtual prototypes and their animation, 3D printing, geometry inspection, loads, insolation or other analyzes. This paper presents results of geometric analysis of wind turbine tower, its 3D modeling with animation, based on TLS and photogrammetric data, obtained during 2018 at Alibunar in Serbia.

AB - Contemporary visualization techniques rely on new technological achievements which offer information data collection in the form of a three-dimensional model. Such 3D model is significant in the area of cultural heritage protection and specifically in the restoration processes of ruined monuments. The results of applications of both methods, terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) and photogrammetry, is 3D data in the form of point cloud, which is a base for 3D modelling process in adequate software, and accordingly, a creation of an objects’ 3D shape. In this paper, the results of data collecting at the medieval site of the Savinac monastery (twelfth century ), performed in 2018, by using both contemporary methods, is presented. The visualization of this particular site is of the major importance for cultural heritge of Serbia.

AB - Contemporary trend in reverse engineering in the area of architecture, civil engineering and survey
assumes application of contemporary software tools and measuring devices, where the result –
„state of the art“ of a cultural heritage monument and its terrain surroundings is a point cloud in
referenced 3D coordinate system. Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), as the measuring method, gives accurate data on an object/terrain, available for further processing (according to professional
needs) and analysis. Contemporary software solutions for point cloud data processing enable
results for the purposes of accurate 2D technical documentation, creation of 3D realistic mesh
models, presentations, animations and other deliverables in overall research processes. This paper presents the results of architectural-geometric analysis of the Kings’ church exterior in Studenica monastery, based on point cloud data provided by TLS at the site during 2017 and partly on existing technical documentation. Kings’ church (originally dedicated to Ss. Ioachim and Anna) is legacy of the king Milutin ( the end of 13th / beginning of 14th c), very modest in dimensions,
almost square shaped in its layout. Its architectural structure is composed as compressed inscribed cross. It belongs to a group of one nave domed churches built by the principles of Byzantine architectural style.
The paper presents 2D projections (cross-sections and characteristic facades) of the church obtained from point cloud results, along with its proportional analysis.
