AB  - Results of an experimental study related to flutter phenomenon are presented in the paper. Two cross-sections are considered: a rectangular cross-section and a typical symmetric bridge cross-section. Stationary coefficients and instationary flutter derivatives are determined by means of forced vibration tests. The identification technique is presented in detail. Pressure measurements at the centre of the bridge cross-section are also performed. Main wind flow patterns are analysed based on pressure distribution data.

Pregled savremenih seizmičkih analiza i načina uvođenja prigušenja u njima

AB  - Autori rada su, na osnovu analize velikog broja naučnih radova, dali prikaz sopstvene originalne sistematizacije seizmičkih analiza konstrukcija, a veliki deo njih je razvijen u poslednje dve decenije. Seizmičke analize su klasifikovane generalno u dve (četiri) grupe: linearne i nelinearne statičke analize; i linearne i nelinearne dinamičke analize. Posebno su klasifikovane analize nelinearnog seizmičkog odgovora konstrukcija, a posebno analize ciljnog pomeranja kojim se definiše odnos seizmičkog zahteva i seizmičkog odgovora. S druge strane, klasifikacija je sprovedena i u funkciji da li se nelinearan odgovor sistema dobija primenom inkrementalno-iterativnih procedura ili primenom poluiterativnih i/ili poluinkrementalnih procedura. Nelinearne dinamičke analize su klasifikovane prema konceptu matematičke formulacije, odnosno da li se zasnivaju na samo jednoj dinamičkoj analizi, većem broju dinamičkih analiza ili dobijaju rešenja u kombinaciji s drugim metodama. Primenom sprovedene sistematizacije seizmičkih analiza može se vrlo efikasno razmotriti koji tip analize je optimalan za analizu konstrukcija i koji tip analize je potrebno uzeti u obzir u fazi preliminarnih i finalnih analiza za naučna istraživanja i stručne projekte. U radu su, takođe, prikazani aspekti modeliranja prigušenja u analizi konstrukcija sistematizacijom tipova prigušenja i formiranim dijagramima tokova, a u zavisnosti od tipa primenjene analize: linearne i nelinearne, statičke i dinamičke. Sistematizacija prigušenja je sprovedena prema načinu uvođenja u proračun i to preko prigušenja materijala, prigušenja elemenata veze i prigušenja koja se direktno uvode u analize, a koje se sprovode u kapacitativnom, vremenskom i frekventnom domenu. Primenom razvijenih dijagrama tokova, u procesu kreiranja numeričkih modela konstrukcija, može se vrlo efikasno razmotriti koji tip prigušenja treba odabrati i na koji način uvesti prigušenje u analizu konstrukcija. Takođe, primenom razvijenih dijagrama tokova mogu se definisati i alternativni pristupi uvođenja prigušenja u analizu konstrukcija.

U radu su, takođe, prikazani aspekti modeliranja prigušenja u analizi konstrukcija sistematizacijom tipova prigušenja i formiranim dijagramima tokova, a u zavisnosti od tipa primenjene analize: linearne i nelinearne, statičke i dinamičke. Sistematizacija prigušenja je sprovedena prema načinu uvođenja u proračun i to preko prigušenja materijala, prigušenja elemenata veze i prigušenja koja se direktno uvode u analize, a koje se sprovode u kapacitativnom, vremenskom i frekventnom domenu. Primenom razvijenih dijagrama tokova, u procesu kreiranja numeričkih modela konstrukcija, može se vrlo efikasno razmotriti koji tip prigušenja treba odabrati i na koji način uvesti prigušenje u analizu konstrukcija. Nonlinear stability analysis of the frame structures

AB  - In this paper the phenomenon of instability of frames in elasto-plastic domain was investigated. Numerical analysis was performed by the finite element method. Stiffness matrices were derived using the trigonometric shape functions related to exact solution of the differential equation of bending according to the second order theory. When the buckling of structure occurs in plastic domain, it is necessary to replace the constant modulus of elasticity E with the tangent modulus Et. Tangent modulus is stress dependent function and takes into account the changes of the member stiffness in the inelastic range. For the purposes of numerical investigation in this analysis, part of the computer program ALIN was created in a way that this program now can be used for elastic and elasto-plastic stability analysis of frame structures. This program is developed in the C++ programming language. Using this program, it is possible to calculate the critical load of frames in the elastic and inelastic domain. In this analysis, the algorithm for the calculation of buckling lengths of compressed columns of the frames was also established. The algorithm is based on the calculation of the global stability analysis of frame structures. Results obtained using this algorithm were compared with the approximate solutions from the European (EC3) and national (JUS) standards for the steel structures. By the given procedure in this paper it is possible to follow the behavior of the plane frames in plastic domain and to calculate the real critical load in that domain.
AB  - U ovom radu istraživan je fenomen gubitka stabilnosti okvirnih nosača u elasto-plastičnoj oblasti. Numerička analiza je sprovedena primenom metode konačnih elemenata. Matrice krutosti su izvedene korišćenjem trigonometrijskih interpolacionih funkcija koje se odnose na tačno rešenje diferencijalne jednačine savijanja štapa prema teoriji drugog reda. U slučaju kada se izvijanje konstrukcije dešava u plastičnoj oblasti, konstantan modul elastičnosti E u matrici krutosti zamenjen je tangentnim modulom Et koji prati promenu krutosti štapa u neelastičnoj oblasti i funkcija je nivoa opterećenja u štapu. Za potrebe ove analize formiran je deo računarskog programa ALIN koji može da se koristi za elastičnu i elasto-plastičnu analizu stabilnosti okvirnih konstrukcija. Program je napisan u C++ programskom jeziku. Primenom ovog programa omogućeno je i određivanje kritičnog opterećenja okvirnih nosača u elastičnoj i neelastičnoj oblasti. U ovom istraživanju formiran je i algoritam za proračun dužina izvijanja pritisnutih štapova stubova okvirnih nosača, a koji se bazira na proračunu globalne analize stabilnosti okvirne konstrukcije. Rezultati dobijeni primenom ovog algoritma upoređeni su s rešenjima koja se dobijaju korišćenjem evropskih EC3 i domaćih JUS standarda za okvirne čelične konstrukcije, a koja su približnog karaktera. Na osnovu postupka koji je dat u ovom radu moguće je praćenje fenomena gubitka stabilnosti okvirnog nosača u plastičnoj oblasti i direktno određivanje njegove kritične sile u toj oblasti.

Numerical simulations and experimental validations of force coefficients and flutter derivatives of a bridge deck

AB  - This paper presents the results of the application of the large eddy simulation (LES) numerical method with the aim of investigating static coefficients and nonstationary flutter derivatives for a common symmetric bridge deck section. The results are compared with those of the unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) study. The results of the investigated numerical simulations are validated by force and pressure measurements from wind tunnel experiments. In addition to the commonly used representation of flutter derivatives based on the integrated forces, the paper uses cross-sectional representation by tracking the contributions of nonstationary coefficients around the bridge deck section. Besides providing a better insight into the physical mechanism, the cross-sectional representation seems to be a powerful tool for identifying deficiencies in visualizing the impact of flow separations on flutter derivatives.

AB  - The widely used formulation of aeroelastic forces presented in the work of Scanlan and Tomko (1971) relies on the frequency dependent coefficients - flutter derivatives and wind tunnel experiments as their identification tool. The lack of analytical solution for flutter phenomena at bridges is related to the complexity of flow separations from a typical bridge deck. Numerical approaches can be considered for identification of aeroelastic forces. Nevertheless, it has to be kept in mind that numerical simulations are often jeopardized by the limitations related to poor detection of separation regions. In order to estimate the influence of these limitations over the computed flutter derivatives, this study employs 3D Large Eddy Simulation (LES) and 2D Unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) approaches.

Нумерички пример типичног попрепчног пресека моста прати приказане приступе.

AB  - Bridge flutter phenomenon presents an important criterion of instability, which should be considered in the bridge design phase. This paper presents different bridge flutter methods which can be used to solve the flutter problem. Most commonly used frequency-domain approach is based on the formulation of aero elastic forces with frequency dependent coefficients called flutter derivatives. The critical wind speed, as the main critical condition for the onset of flutter is obtained based on these aero elastic forces. Aero elastic forces can be also expressed in the time-domain, using so-called indicial functions. These functions are usually determined from the corresponding flutter derivatives. In situations when fluid-memory effects tend to become small the quasi-steady theory can be used as an approximation of aero elastic forces. A numerical example related to the typical bridge cross-section follows presented approaches. .
AB  - Fenomen flatera mostova predstavlja važan kriterijum stabilnosti, koji mora biti uzet u obzir tokom procesa projektovanja mosta. U ovom radu su prikazane različite metode koje se mogu koristiti pri rešavanju problema flatera. Najčešće korišćeni pristup je u frekventnom domenu i baziran je na formulaciji aeroelastičnih sila putem frekventno zavisnih koeficijenata koji se nazivaju flater derivati. Na osnovu ovako izraženih aeroelastičnih sila, određuje se kritična brzina vetra, kao glavni uslov za nastanak flatera. Aeroelastične sile mogu se takođe izraziti i u vremenskom domenu, pomoću takozvanih indicijalnih funkcija. Ove funkcije su najčešće određene iz odgovarajućih flater derivata. U slučajevima kada su efekti memorije fluida zanemarljivi, kvaziustaljena teorija može se koristiti za aproksimaciju aeroelastičnih sila. Numerički primer tipičnog poprečnog preseka mosta prati prikazane pristupe. .

AB  - This paper presents the procedure for stability analysis of frame structures in elasto-plastic domain. This analysis is performed using the code ALIN, developed in the C++ programming language. In this code the stiffness matrix is derived using interpolation functions related to the exact solution of the differential equation of bending of a beam according to the second-order theory. Also, the concept of tangent modulus is applied for the stability calculation in the inelastic domain.

AB  - U ovom radu je prikazana analiza uticaja mogućeg zemljotresa na jednostavan objekat, ali koji zbog svoje namene, skaldištenja radioaktivnog otpada, spada u "Objekate van kategorije". Dinamička analiza je obavljena primenom multimodalne spektralne analize u skladu sa odredbama Evrokoda 8, kao i primenom analize u vremenskom domenu rešavanjem diferencijalnih jednačina kretanja  za usvojeni akcelerogram kopaoničkog zemljotresa. Prikazane su osnovne geodinamičke karakteristike tla i konstrukcije, kao i spektar i akcelerogram izabranog reprezentativnog zemljotresa. Osim osnovnih dinamičikh karakteristika konstrukcije, dati su neki dobijeni rezultati maksimalnih pomeranja u uslovima zemljotresa, kao i maksimalnih uticaja u elementima konstrukcije. Imajući u vidu predviđen način odlaganja radioaktivnog otpada, razmatrano je i moguće klizanje i preturanje paleta sa otpadom u uslovima zemljotresnog dejstva.

AB  - The paper is discussing a train-induced vibration analysis related to the new railway station “Belgrade-Center” in Prokop. The station is not jet built, but above the station area of approximately 400 x 100 m a huge RC plate, supported on the corresponding columns, is built. That platform is going to support the future commercial area, of about 120 000m2, so the train-induced vibrations are an important issue for the future objects on the platform. Combined numerical simulations of vibration propagation and corresponding measurements related to the station in general and particularly to that platform are presented in the paper.

AB  - In this paper numerical modeling of train induced vibration is presented. The wheel force is modeled with assumption that only static component with constant load shape and constant velocity exists. The dynamic and inertial part of loading is neglected. The dynamic response, caused by the calculated moving forces of train “Beovoz”, in the selected points of existing structures at railway station “Belgrade-Center” in Prokop are obtained using the Finite element analysis in the Frequency domain and the Thin layer method. Some of the results are presented.

Column Buckling Investigation of Plane Frames

AB  - This paper deals with elastic stability analysis of the plane frame structures. The main aim is to investigate the accuracy of related parts of European and domestic codes for steel and concrete structures. Numerical analysis of frame structures is performed using the self-developed Matlab computer program. Matrix analysis of the whole structure according to the second order theory, based on the application of trigonometric shape functions, is applied. As opposed to that, the dominant approach given in most structural codes is based upon the stability analysis of compressed structural elements isolated from the structure as a whole. Several numerical examples are given in the paper and comparative analyses presented herein show that, in some cases, solutions given in domestic and European codes are rather inaccurate. For example, the error in the determination of the effective buckling length of frame columns can sometimes exceed even 100%. Finally, it is concluded that innovation of actual codes should be done in the part where the effective buckling length of frame columns is considered. Improvement of this calculation could be achieved using the global stability approach and the corresponding calculation of the critical load for complete structure, as it is presented in the paper.
