AB - Multi-frequency GNSS satellite signals and their availability enable research in undifferentiated and uncombined models in which a single signal at each frequency is a corresponding independent observation. Such possibilities are reflected by the significant interest in geodetic research as well as in many areas of application of GNSS observation. On the geometric path of the signal between the satellite and the receiver, a significant source of GNSS measurement errors comes from the medium of propagation of electromagnetic waves. Errors attributed to signal propagation are ionospheric and tropospheric signal delay. The mentioned error sources significantly affect the quality of certain pseudorange and, thus, the quality of the receiver's position in the form of three-dimensional coordinates. This paper presents the analysis and determination of the ionospheric delay of GNSS satellite signals based on the determination of Total Electron Content - TEC at five stations (Beograd, Leskovac, Sombor, Zaječar, and Kraljevo) in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. In order to determine TEC values, the software called "GPS-TEC analysis" developed within the Institute for Scientific Research, Boston College, USA was used, which enables the determination of the TEC value on the path between the satellite and the receiver. The data collection was carried out within the year 2022 so that the measurement sessions include characteristic dates when the most significant fluctuations are expected in the context of seasonal variations.

AB - The propagation of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals through the atmosphere is affected by the electron content in the ionosphere and the air density in the electrically neutral troposphere, thus causing a signal delay and leading to errors in the GNSS observations and the estimated positions. Our research has been conducted related to the influence of the tropospheric layer of the Earth's atmosphere on signals at geodetic observation stations in the zenith direction. Since tropospheric refraction cannot be directly estimated, the signal delay has been quantified by applying several developed models. As the lowest layer of the atmosphere, the average height of the troposphere is approximately ten kilometers, and it is variable concerning the latitude of the measuring station and seasonal conditions. The tropospheric delay of the GNSS signal - Zenith Total Delay (ZTD), was analyzed on the examples of three International GNSS Service (IGS) stations at different latitudes. Two epochs in July 2022 and January 2023 for each IGS station are considered regarding seasonal differences in the atmospheric parameters. It was found that at each of the IGS stations, there is an oscillation of the ZTD amplitude with a half-day period. Different patterns were distinguished at each station, depending on the station latitude and epoch, i.e., summer or winter atmospheric conditions. For example, a random walk signal was dominant at the ROAG, San Fernando IGS station.

AB - We analyzed the Earth's long-term polar motion using the time series IERS EOP C04 (from 1984 to 2023) to determine the variation of amplitude of the Chandler wobble. To compare the results based on the C04 with the Belgrade latitude data (BLZ series 1949-1985) results, we calculated the variations of latitude at BLZ point using the C04 coordinates (x, y). The secular part of these latitude variations was determined by use of the least-squares method (LSM) and removed from the data to get residuals. We used the Fourier transforms (DFT) to obtain annual and semiannual oscillations and to remove them from the residuals (to get a new set of residuals). These new residuals were divided into 33 independent 1.2 years subintervals. For each subinterval, we calculated the amplitude, period and phase of the Chandler nutation using the LSM. The quasi-periodic instability of 33 values of the amplitude of the Chandler wobble is detected with a period of 54.5 years using LSM (it was 38.5 years from BLZ data 1949-1985); the amplitude of that quasi-periodic variation is 0.″087 (0.″06 from BLZ data). The amplitude of the Chandler nutation varies with a minimum of 0.″012 (at 2019.3) and a maximum of 0.″230 (at 1994.1); the period is stable, but the phase is not stable. We applied the Abbe criterion to explain the variability in 33 values of the Chandler wobble amplitude, and the hypothesis that there is no trend in these 33 values is rejected. The obtained amplitude modulation is in accordance with other published papers about similar subject (and with our results based on BLZ data). Probably, the cause is lying in the hydro-atmospheric circulation that could influence calculated quasi-periodic variation. A possible explanation can be found in changes of core-mantle electromagnetic coupling (in line with the last few years investigations). In recent papers, it has been noticed that the effects of geomagnetic jerks are more important for exciting free nutation than the atmosphere and oceans.

AB - Integrated approaches for managing natural resources are needed to meet the increasing demand for freshwater, energy and food, while, in parallel, mitigating and adapting to climate change, maintaining the integrity of ecosystems, and ensuring equitable access to resources. The Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus has been proposed as a cross-sectoral approach to understand, analyse, and manage the complex trade-offs and exploit synergies that arise among these resource sectors. Although not initially included as a component of the Nexus, the importance of ecosystems in supporting water, energy and food security is increasingly recognised by the Nexus community of researchers and practitioners. However, attempts to conceptually integrate Ecosystems into the Nexus have yet to converge into a common framework. A group of natural resources management researchers, system thinkers and ecosystem services experts from the European network COST Action CA20138 NEXUSNET have compiled and investigated the various approaches for integrating ecosystems in the WEF Nexus. By combining literature analysis with interdisciplinary workshops – one of which was held in a hybrid format (in person and online) at the University of Oulu, Finland, in September 2022 – we reveal a multiplicity of concepts utilised to represent, partially or fully, ecosystems in the Nexus, namely “natural environment”, “ecosystem services” and “biodiversity”. Disparity was also found in the role attributed to ecosystems in the Nexus framework, being it an underlying layer from which resources for Nexus sectors are extracted or the pillar of an expanded Nexus system – i.e., the WEF-Ecosystems Nexus. Through this collaborative effort, we present possible advantages and disadvantages of adopting differential WEF-Ecosystems Nexus approaches, highlighting their potential complementarity and integration to support future advancement of Nexus research. In the oral presentation, we will show our preliminary findings and encourage the exchange of ideas and feedback from the different scientific disciplines present at the CEMEPE Conference.

AB - The electro-optical distance measurement (EDM) instruments are widely used not only in geodesy but also in almost all engineering disciplines and related projects. High accuracy length measurements are required especially for different engineering works in urban areas. The paper will present the sources of errors which originate from the atmospheric conditions present in the process of measuring lengths with electro-optical light wave EDM. First, the working principle based on phase difference measurements and the basic components of EDM are described.
Atmospheric influence parameters, temperature, atmospheric pressure and air humidity, their impact on the EDM measurements and the formulae recommended by IAG Resolution 3 adopted at the XXIIth General Assembly for the calculating the atmospheric influences are presented.
The atmospheric influence parameters were treated as well-understood effect from a metrological point of view in according with the GUM - Part 6: Developing and using measurement models. Sensors with an appropriate resolution for measure temperature, atmospheric pressure and air humidity are used in this research.
The first velocity correction estimate is based in part on the a priori known wavelength of the oscillator of the electro-optical EDM instrument and in part on the measured atmospheric parameters. Depending on the frequency bandwidth, as well as, the values of the measured lengths, the group refractive index of air and the first velocity correction is calculated for two EDM instruments Wild DI 20 and Leica TS30.
The values of errors in distance measurements both for the shorter distances up to 500 m and longer distances up to 2 km in the case that temperature, pressure and air humidity influence are not accurately represented in real conditions are given and discussed.
It is shown that first velocity corrections increase with temperature for all measured distances for both types of EDM instruments. Based on the comparison of correction errors for Wild DI 20 and Leica TS 30 instruments, it was concluded that the correction errors in both cases of measurement at lower and higher temperatures than nominal are less for the Wild DI 20 instrument.

AB - The main source of the seismic energy on the territory of the Republic of Serbia is connected with the primary tectonic contact between the Eurasian and African/Arabian plates along the coast of the Adriatic Sea and the Balkan Peninsula. This geotectonic collision -compression contact represents a source of tectonic stress whose accumulated energy is transmitting to his background and is realized in the form of earthquakes.
Based on the available seismic hazard maps, considering both different return periods of macroseismic intensity and different seismic zones, displacement fields of various civil engineering structures (i.e. large reinforced concrete frame or shear wall buildings, bridge structures etc.) will be assessed using an approach based on the precise geodetic observations.
The permanent CORS GPS network of Serbia with an average stations distance of 60 km is used as a basis for monitoring and determining the values of ground deformations and objects displacements. The permanent stations network will be more spatially densified in each specific area by the appropriate stations of the SREF network (average stations distance 10 km) and the local network points of the civil engineering structures individually.
In this way each local stations network of the construction objects particularly, should be specially designed depending on the given conditions of this civil engineering structures which will allow a better understanding of seismological impacts.

AB - This study compares a series of global geopotential models (GGMs) using
available terrestrial data from the territory of Libya. The anomalies of free air were
determined in points of gravimetric survey of Libya by using the model of European Improved
Gravity 6C2 (EIGEN-6C2), the model of the Earth Gravitational Model 2008 (EGM2008), as
well as model of the Earth Gravitational Model 1996 (EGM96). The points of gravimetric
survey of Libya are related to International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF2000),
Geodetic Reference System 1980 (GRS80), International Gravity Standardization Net 1971
(IGSN71) and the levelling network of Libya. Free air anomalies were evaluated at the points
of gravimetric survey. Along with all mentioned above the results gained by using said models
were separately compared with the data obtained by using the Earth Gravitational Model
(EGM96).

Abstract. The paper presents preliminary results of coordinate time series analysis in the Serbian network of permanent GNSS stations. The analysis methodology is outlined and resulting station velocities are briefly commented. Despite the short time span used, the crustal deformation trend was clearly identified, confirming the potential of the network of permanent stations for local and regional geodynamical studies.

Abstract. The subject of this paper is to investigate the contribution of GPS coordinate time series to the development of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF). The analysis of the GPS data sets should not only detect possible trends but should also discover offsets or discontinuities caused by natural processes like sudden crustal movements and earthquakes, as well as those caused by artificial events and man-made activities.
This kind of analysis is important because it contributes to the understanding of Reference Frame stability and enables deeper insight into local, regional, and global geodynamical processes. The paper describes the strategy and some results obtained by the analysis of data from Reference GNSS stations located in the Republic of Serbia.

AB - Modelling the effects of topographic masses which bear local changes of the gravity field is exceptionally important in the contemporary scientific and practical implementations. The topography effect in this paper is analysed by the digital terrain model of the Republic of Serbia, developed on the basis of the topographic map at the scale of 1:25 000 and by the hypothesis on the equal density of surface layers of the Earth crust. The shortwave characteristic as an impact of the local topography was analysed in parts with different topography for the region of Belgrade and Pal-clan. The gravity field parameters were determined in points of the reference GPS network of the Republic of Serbia and points of the Paracin basis, with the purpose of comparing gravimetric vertical deflections with astro-geodetic vertical deflections.

Abstract. The permanent station network in the Republic of Serbia was established towards the end of 2005. when it started to be used for commercial purposes. The network was primarily developed as a support to users in surveying, but also as a support for solving problems in the field of engineering works, developing geodetic networks and navigation. Consequently and depending on the required accuracy, the network was conceived to have three customer services. For the current commercial purposes, the RTK service of the network has been most commonly used, mainly for surveying. Therefore, we have tested the accuracy of RTK service. Also we have established whether this service has been realised in compliance with the projected accuracy. For that purpose, experimental measuring has been conducted on the points with already known coordinates and a detailed analysis of the obtained results has been carried out. The conclusion of the conducted experiment is that the RTK service of the permanent station network provides accuracy of coordinates of newly established points within the margins of 2-3 cm, which has been foreseen by the general design of the network.

AB - Periodic tests of quartz oscillators incorporated in GPS receivers in Serbia are performed in accredited metrological laboratories by the procedure adopted in metrological laboratory ML160. However, receivers of Serbian permanent stations network (AGROS) are permanently mounted on the top of roofs of local cadastral offices, spread along territory of Serbia. They cannot be taken to a metrological laboratory for calibration because of need for constant work. A method for testing their oscillator stability is presented in this paper.

AB - Astro-geodetic determinations of vertical deflections in Serbia began during the first years of 20th century. The first field works were led by S. Boskovic. After the 2nd World War, Military Geographic Institute, Department of Geodesy from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and Federal Geodetic Directorate continued the determinations, needed for reductions of terrestrial geodetic measurements and the astro-geodetic geoid determination. Last years improvements of the astro-geodetic methods are carried out in the area of implementing modern measurement equipment and technologies.
