AB  - Two conventional experimental procedures for determination of the water permeability of saturated porous medium are the constant and the falling head permeability tests. The first one is more applicable on more permeable materials where the outflow from the sample is measured at variety of constant water heads, while the second one is more convenient for low permeable materials, utilizing the continuous measurements of the water head falling due to filtration through the saturated sample. However, neither of the two is useful for materials of high permeability and large cross-sectional area. The constant head permeability test faces technical issues since a significant and continuous water discharge is required, while the falling head permeability test has limitations due to neglection of the Forchheimer's high-velocity flow through the sample, but also the influence of inertia on the fluid mass. Here we proposed an approach for determination of the water permeability of saturated porous medium based on the agreement between the measured water level change in two connected reservoirs containing a porous sample and the new semi-analytical expression describing that change by accounting for the mentioned theoretical deficiencies. This efficient approach has been tested on four pervious paver samples, and results showed satisfactory agreement with the constant head permeability data. It has been also confirmed the proposed semi-analytical solution is more accurate than the falling head permeability approach in case of highly pervious materials, while for low permeable materials it reduces to the conventional approach.

AB  - U ovom radu je shematski i fragmentarno prikazan niz najvažnijih analiza i faza kod projektovanja sistema za kanalisanje kišnih voda u gradskim uslovima, na osnovu više od 40 godina iskustva članova Instituta za hidrotehniku i vodno ekološko inženjerstvo Građevinskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu: istraživačkog – laboratorijskog, terenskog i studijskog, te niza projekata i izvođačkog iskustva, što je započelo projektom za Zrenjanin 1979-80. godine.
Početni korak je analiza jakih kiša različitih trajanja, kao osnovnim podlogama iako se podaci o merodavnim kišama najčešće „prenose“ sa bliskih lokacija, daje se pregled potrebnih podloga za analizu i modeliranje oticaja kišnih voda, potom prikazuju vrste merenja u kanalizacionim sistemima, diskutuju i drugi aspekti u skladu sa konceptom i zadatim stepenom zaštite od kišnih voda – prihvatljivim rizikom od poplava – na bazi projektnog zadatka za formiranje tehničkog rešenja. Bitno je da projektom treba osigurati i bezbedno odvijanje pešačkog i motornog saobraćaja na ulicama, na prelazima i kolovozima, kao i zaštitu okoline od zagađenja kišnim oticajem koji, šta više, može da se koristi.
Opisani su aspekti i efekti kanalisanja i ispuštanja kišnih voda, koje su do 70-ih godina smatrane „čistim“, na životnu sredinu, prvenstveno na recipijente - vodotoke, dok se poslednjih 20-ak godina koriste kao izvori voda za razne namene.
AB  - The paper presents schematic and fragmentary approach to rain water in urban conditions, according to the basic stages od design project procedure that is based on more than 40 years of experience of members of the Institute of Hydraulic and Water Ecological Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Belgrade, including research, laboratory and field works, preliminary and main designs and execution works experience.

As first and important step is analysis of short duration high intensity rainfall usually based on near by gauge data through required analysis of background information for modelling of rainfall runoff, together with measurements in drainage systems, based on Terms of references, that includes concept and protection level from rain water – acceptable risk of flood, and finaly development of technical solution. The solution also needs to ensure safe pedestrian and motor traffic on streets, at crossings and on pavements. Before the 70-ies the effects of collecting and discharge of rainfall runoff was considered not poluted on the environment, primarily on the recipients – watercourses, what was found being wrong. Yet, during last two decades after treatment rainfall runoff being used as water sources.

AB  - Jedan od pristupa za redukovanje štetnog dejstvo talasa usled vetra na obalu i objekte u, i na vodi, zasniva se na izgradnji zaštitnih građevina u priobalju. Izgradnjom ovakvih građevina omogućava se delimično, ili potpuno (odbijanje),umanjenje amplitude i energije dolaznog talasa. U radu se predstavljaju mogućnosti SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) numeričkog modela, implementiranog u programskom kodu DualSPHysics, u projektovanju građevina za smanjenje visine talasa. Prikazani su rezultati primene SPH modela strujanja na osnovu kojih je određena konfiguracija specijalne vodopropusne konstrukcije koja se sastoji iz vertikalnog niza odbojnika oslonjenih na šipove. U radu se daje poseban osvrt na izbor parametara računskog modela.

AB  - U radu se prezentuju rezultati analize uticaja građevine u rečnom koritu na režim talasa 
usled dejstva vetra. Za dve varijante poprečnih građevina u zoni obale Dunava kod Donjeg Milanovca, prikazani u računski postupci određivanja merodavne visine talasa i uticaja građevina na transformaciju merodavnih talasa, sve u cilju povećanja stepena zaštite postojeće obale. Takođe, izvršena je i analiza uticaja građevina na propusnost korita za vodu i nanos. U predstavljenim analizama uticaja građevina na dejstvo talasa korišćeni su računski modeli STWAVE (Steady state spectral wave) i SPH (Smoothed particle hydrodynamics) dok je u analizi uticaja građevina na propusnost korita korišćen model ravanskog strujanja implementiran u programskom kodu Telemac 2D.

is limited monitoring of the water temperature in the drinking water distribution system (DWDS),
despite a known impact on physical, chemical and microbial reactions which impact water quality.
A key parameter influencing drinking water temperature is soil temperature, which is influenced by the urban heat island e ects. This paper provides critique and comprehensive summary of the current knowledge, policies and challenges regarding drinking water temperature research and presents the findings from a survey of international stakeholders. Knowledge gaps as well as challenges and opportunities for monitoring and research are identified. The conclusion of the study is that temperature in the DWDS is an emerging concern in various countries regardless of the water source and treatment, climate conditions, or network characteristics such as topology, pipe material or diameter. More research is needed, especially to determine (i) the e ect of higher temperatures, (ii) a legislative limit on temperature and (iii) measures to comply with this limit.

AB  - Na području Republike Srpske i Bosne i Hercegovine integralni vodoprivredni sistemi su djelimično ili veoma slabo razvijeni. Procenat realizovanih sistema je značajno manji od iskazanih vodoprivrednih potreba i očekivanih ciljeva. Uvažavajući obaveze ispunjavanja uslova iz Direktiva o vodama, bitno je uočiti značajnu činjenicu da je u većini razvijenih zemalja EU proces razvoja integralnih sistema uglavnom završen.

U BiH djelimično su realizovani sistemi na Drini, Neretvi, Trebišnjici i Vrbasu, a ostali slivovi nemaju
izgrađene ili dokumentacijom planirane ključne integralne vodoprivredne sisteme. Kao poseban primjer
nerazvijenosti i deficita iskazanih potreba za rezervama vode izdvaja se rijeka Bosna.

U polazištima za ispunjavanje zahtjeva Direktiva za BiH i Republiku Srpsku postoje suštinska tehnička
ograničenja koja treba uvažiti. Na slivu rijeke Vrbas koji je suočen sa nepotpuno razvijenim integralnim
vodoprivrednim sistemima, na bazi sprovedenih analiza iz ’pilot’ Plana upravljanja rizikom od poplava za sliv rijeke Vrbas Republike Srpske, daju se strateške preporuke koje su bitne za zaštitu od voda, uređenje prostora i razvoj društvene zajednice na tom slivnom području uvažavajući zatečeno stanje, višenamjenske potrebe korišćenja voda i preuzete zahtjeve ekološkog statusa voda iz Direktiva o vodama.

U strateškom opredjeljenju, sektor voda u Republici Srpskoj mora neodložno, planski i ozbiljno pristupiti planiranju i razvoju integralnih vodoprivrednih sistema. Ovaj proces je poželjno koordinisano i sinhronizovano započeti u saradnji sa sektorom voda u Federaciji BiH, imajući u vidu uticaje sa uzvodnih područja na vodne režime malih i velikih voda.

Period tranzicije, do pristupanja pregovorima i članstvu u EU mora se racionalno iskoristiti, na način da se u svim dokumentima sektora voda zahtjevi Direktiva prilagode razvojnim prioritetima. To znači da se u Planovima upravljanja rizicima od poplava potencira planiranje i izgradnja ključnih akumulacija i ostalih objekata integralnih vodoprivrednih sistema. Takav pristup će omogućiti da se obezbijedi dobar ekološki i hemijski status voda, odgovarajuće potrebe za vodom i preduslovi za efikasniju aktivnu zaštitu od poplava.

Zbog toga treba decidno iskazati potrebe i iste ostvariti razvojnim ciklusom uz pomoć EU. Po tom osnovu bi bilo korisno navesti primjere iz EU (Španija) i nastojati da se integralni vodoprivredni sistemi u Republici Srpskoj i BiH izgrade do potrebnog nivoa koji garantuje funkcionalnost, održivost i odgovarajuće upravljanje.

Zakon o vodama i strateški dokumenti Republike Srpske iz oblasti voda (’Strategija upravljanja vodama
Republike Srpske’), daju mogućnost da se integralni vodoprivredni sistemi razvijaju do potrebnog kapaciteta.

AB  - The paper presents developed 3Dnet-HET, a distributed hydrologic model coupled with the discrete channel network concept for groundwater circulation simulation in the karst environment. The hydrologic part is driven by the spatially distributed precipitation input and characteristic air temperatures to produce surface runoff and groundwater infiltration as a result. This represents input for the “horizontal water balance” module in which the groundwater flow is simulated by the system of discrete conduits representing known groundwater paths. In this study, the model is applied for simulation of the  Dabarsko polje water balance in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the river Bregava catchment runoff. The model is firstly calibrated based on recorded water levels in the Dabarsko polje and flow discharges at the Bregava spring. Obtained model is utilized to analyze the Dabarsko polje water balance and possible effects of the planned hydropower plant “Dabar”. Results indicate a high flow variation and necessity of integrated real-time water management of the whole Trebišnjica system.

Analyzing all viable potential groundwater contamination scenarios for good decision making requires reliable tool. Coupling several complex models in integrated modelling can often fail to perform in reasonable time. Possible solution in that case could be usage of simplified models in order to speed up long-term continuous calculations and simulations. The paper presents the application of the Cellular Automata (CA) approach in modelling of the contaminant transport under unsteady groundwater conditions. It compares the results obtained using coupled CA models with well-known analytical solutions and standard methods used for pollution transport modelling in groundwater conditions, such as coupled MODFLOW and MT3DMS. Results obtained in this paper show that CA approach can be satisfactorily used for simulations of unsteady groundwater conditions, caused by surface-groundwater interaction, and pollution transport, especially in diffusion dominant cases, gaining the reduction of simulation time up to 10 times.

AB  - Ubrzani razvoj gradova i urbanizacija ruralnih područja predstavlaju realnost već nekoliko 
desetina godina u nazad, a taj trend će se neminovno nastaviti i u budućnosti. Urbanizacija utiče na povećanje onog dela urbanog oticaja koji potiče od padavina. Tradicionalni sistemi koji su ranije projektovani za odvođenje urbanog oticaja imali su za cilj da što brže taj oticaj odvedu do recipijenta. U poslednjih petnaest, dvadeset godina javila se potreba za razvojem sistema koji će se baviti kako kontrolom i smanjnjem količine urbanog oticaja, tako i poboljšanjem njegovog kvaliteta uz minimalno narušavanje životne sredine i ekosistema. Tema ovog rada je ispitivanje mogućnosti za implementaciju savremenih sistema za smanjenje kišnog oticaja na teritoriji naselja Vojlovica u Pančevu, korišćenjem modela oticaja u programu EPA SWMM. U radu je izvršeno 
poređenje rezultata modela oticaja u postojećim uslovima i modela sa korišćenjem savremenih sistema za smanjenje oticaja kao što su zemljani kanali, propusne staze, rezervoari.
AB  - The accelerated development of cities and the urbanization of rural areas present the reality for 
several decades now, and this trend will continue inevitably in the future. Urbanization influences the increase of that part of the urban runoff from the precipitation. Traditional systems that were previously designed for the removal of urban runoff were intended to take the runoff to the recipient as quickly as possible. In the last fifteen, twenty years there has been a need for the development of a system that will deal with controlling and reducing the amount of urban runoff, as well as improving its quality with minimal environmental and ecosystem degradation. The topic of this paper is to examine the possibilities for implementation of modern systems for reducing the runoff in the territory of Vojlovica settlement in Pančevo, using the model of runoff in the software EPA SWMM. In this paper, is made comparison of the results of the runoff model in the existing conditions and models with implementation of modern systems for the reduction of the runoff, such as channels, permeable pavements, reservoirs.

AB  - The paper presents results of the physically based, distributed hydrologic model for simulation of runoff in karst areas. The 3Dnet-HET model is developed for simulation of river Trebišnjica catchment, however, in this study it is applied for simulation of a long-term time series (50 years hydrological input) of the Dabarsko polje catchment, as well as the river Bregava catchment. The model is firstly calibrated based on recorded water levels in the Dabarsko polje and flow discharges at the Bregava spring. Obtained model is utilized to analyze the Dabarsko polje water balance and possible effects of the planned hydropower plant “Dabar”. Results indicate a high flow variation and that water management of the whole Trebišnjica system will require an integrated real-time management.

AB  - Depending on the usage of fly ash, it is necessary to determine its environmental parameters, such as the potential for pollutant transport/leaching after its built-in. This study presents a methodology for determination of transport parameters (filtration coefficient, effective porosity, longitudinal dispersivity,and the mean residence time) from experimental data collected from column experiments with a conservative tracer on different mixtures of fly ash with stabilizers (4.8% lime and 5% cement). The transport parameters are determined using (1) numerical model results and (2) an adapted analytical solution results against measured outflow tracer concentrations. The study shows that the addition of stabilizers decreases the filtration coefficient by an order of magnitude and the effective porosity by half. The longitudinal dispersivity is not influenced by the addition of lime to the mixture, and is increased by 40% by the addition of cement. The pollutant contact time with fly ash increases by six or nine times with the addition of lime and cement, respectively. The adaptation of the analytical solution agrees well with both the numerical solution and the experimental results, and it is anticipated to be of high value for determination of transport parameters for practitioners not familiar with numerical methods.

AB  - Design of drainage wells is one of the most commonly used methods for groundwater level decrease, where number of wells and their capacity has to be calculated. These parameters depend on aquifer filtration properties, river water level and distance between wells and the river. The effect of the river proximity is reflected in groundwater level increase that may require more wells or bigger well’s capacity. Groundwater level reduction is calculated by using the mirror method. Aquifer and riverbed clogging layer filtration characteristic have to be determined when using mirror method. Modification of the mirror method where riverbed clogging layer filtration characteristics are included and methodology for riverbed clogging layer filtration characteristics estimation are presented.

AB  - Design of drainage wells is one of the most commonly used methods for groundwater dewatering where number of required wells and their capacity has to be designed. Asside the aquifer filtration properties, river water level and distance between wells and the river, final design heavily depend on riverbed clogging layer filtration characteristics. In this paper, these characteristics are estimated by analysis of pumping test results, i.e. based on monitoring of groundwater level changes at the two piezometers during the pumping test. Proposed methodology is based on simple analytical solution for groundwater flow in the vicintiy of pumping well with modification due to existence of riverbed clogging layer. Its applicability is demonstrated at the field experiment conducted near the river Sava in Belgrade.
AB  - Ugradnja drenažnih bunara je jedan od najčešće primenjivanih postupaka za sniženje nivoa podzemnih voda (NPV) za potrebe izvođenja građevinskih radova u suvom, pri čemu je u fazi projektovanja potrebno odrediti potreban broj bunara i protok koji se na njima crpi. Rešenje zavisi od zahtevanog sniženja NPV, filtracionih karakteristika izdani, uslova na granicama, npr. nivoa u reci, kao i od raspoložive tehnologije izvođenja bunara. Projektovanje drenažnog sistema obično podrazumeva izradu numeričkog modela strujanja podzemnih voda i analizu varijantnih rešenja na modelu. U slučaju blizine rečnog toka iz koga se prihranjuje izdan koja se drenira, sniženje NPV je često moguće analizirati primenom jednostavnih analitičkih metoda, kao što je metoda ogledalnih slika. Pri tome, bez obzira na primenjenu metodu analize, veoma značajan uticaj na rešenje imaju filtracione karakteristike kolmirajućeg sloja na dnu reke. Zbog značaja ovog parametra kod rešavanja praktičnih problema projektovanja bunarskih drenažnih sistema, u ovom radu je prikazana metoda za određivanje karakteristika kolmirajućeg sloja na osnovu rezultata testa probnog crpljenja, primenom metode ogledalnih slika. Predložena metodologija je primenjena na konkretnom primeru iz prakse.

AB  - The paper presents a novel method for hypolimnetic oxygenation by electrolysis of water. The performance of the method is investigated by the laboratory and the field experiment. The laboratory experiment is conducted in a 90 L vessel, while the field experiment is conducted at the lake Biwa in Japan. In order to provide a better insight into involved processes, a numerical model for simulation of bubble flow is developed with consideration of gas compressibility and oxygen dissolution. The model simultaneously solves 3-D volume averaged two-fluid governing equations. Developed model is firstly verified by simulation of bubble flow experiments, reported in the literature, where good qualitative agreement between measured and simulated results is observed In the second part, the model is applied for simulation of conducted water electrolysis experiments. The model reproduced the observed oxygen concentration dynamics reasonably well.

AB  - Advanced mathematical models of groundwater flow provide exceptional support in designing of new wellheads, but also optimization analyses of the existing groundwater resources management. However, for reliable forecasts their application requires a large data base that may be obtained exclusively through field research. The paper demonstrates the application of advanced mathematical models in an optimization analysis of the wellhead protection system management, with the case study of the wellhead 'Korbovo', at the Danube riverbank. Required field investigations and background data were presented as the basis for the formulation of mathematical model. On the basis of numerical analysis, a solution was proposed for the wellhead protection management, which generates significant energy savings in relation to the existing conditions.
AB  - Savremeni matematički modeli strujanja podzemnih voda pružaju izuzetnu podršku kod projektovanja novih, ali i kod različitih optimizacija rada postojećih izvorišta podzemnih voda. Međutim, njihova primena u cilju pouzdanih prognoza zahteva obiman fond podataka do kojih se dolazi isključivo terenskim istraživanjima. U radu se demonstrira primena naprednih matematičkih modela u cilju optimizacije rada bunarske zaštite izvorišta podzemnih voda na primeru izvorišta "Korbovo" pored Dunava. U tom smislu, prezentovana su neophodna istraživanja i podloge kao osnova za formiranje matematičkog modela. Na osnovu numeričkih analiza predloženo je rešenje rada bunarske zaštite kojom se ostvaruju značajne energetske uštede u odnosu na postojeće uslove.

AB  - Large systems as mines with open pits and thermal power plants are particularly sensitive to flooding. Outage of such systems (due to flooding of mines or threats to other vital elements of the system) cause serious consequences on the widest area, because the damage and interruptions of work impact on productive systems and settlements. It is therefore necessary to protect such systems against floods, including application of mathematical models, on two levels: (a) during the area management - to be able to sustain the extreme hydrological situation, (b) during the operational management of such systems in flood periods. Using methods of mathematical modeling both mentioned tasks are considered in the article, on the example of mines and termal power plant Gacko. Coupled mathematical model is developed and applied with two purposes: (a) to examine the hydrologichydraulic scenarios in the wider area of the system during the flood period, in order to arrange environment (embankments, retention basins) to protect the vital facilities, (b) to enable sugesting the best management decisions for the use of existing reservoirs and surface storage during the unfavorable hydrological situation by implementing software that uses information collected in real-time, in order to protect the most vital facilities of this important and very sensitive energy system.
AB  - Veliki sistemi kako što su rudnici sa otvorenim kopovima i termoelektrane posebno su osetljivi na plavljenje. Ispad iz pogona takvih sistema zbog plavljenja kopova i/ili ugrožavanja drugih vitalnih instalacija sistema - izaziva teške posledice na najširem prostoru, na nivou države, jer se štete i zastoji u radu lančano prenose na sve proizvodne sisteme i naselja. Zbog toga je neophodno da se zaštita takvih sistema od velikih voda veoma ozbiljno razmatra, primenom matematičkih modela, na dva nivoa: (a) tokom namenskog uređenja teritorije u okruženju sistema da mogu bez drastičnih posledica da izdrže ekstremne hidrološke situacije, (b) tokom operativnog upravljanja takvim sistemima u periodima velikih voda. U članku se na primeru rudnika i TE Gacko razmatraju mogućnosti realizacije oba zadatka primenom savremenih metoda matematičkog modeliranja. Razvijen je spregnuti matematički model koji, primenjen na RiTE Gacko, omogućava: (a) da se ispitaju hidrološko-hidraulički scenariji dešavanja u široj zoni tog sistema tokom pojave velikih voda, kako bi se sagledalo kako treba planski urediti šire okruženje (nasipi, retenzije) da ne bi došlo do ugrožavanja vitalnih objekata, (b) da se tokom odvijanja nepovoljne hidrološke situacije omogući da se upravljačkim softverom, uz korišćenje informacija koje se u realnom vremenu sakupljaju sa sliva, donose najpovoljnije upravljačke odluke za korišćenje postojećih akumulacija i retenzija, kako bi se zaštitili najvitalniji objekti tog važnog i vrlo osetljivog energetskog sistema.

AB  - The paper presents main design project of the bridge Ostruznica deck drainage and runoff treatment. An  integral  solution  of  drainage  and  irrigation  and/or  discharge  water  into  the  Sava  river  of  pre  - treated runoff from the portion of highway Dobanovci – Bubanj Potok and the bridge The treated water is  taken  for  irrigation  into  the  groundwater  as  a  recharge,  along  the  series  of  wells  for  potable  water within  sanitary  protection  zone  of  the  Belgrade  Water  supply  system.  The  first  flush  of  the  criteria rainfall runoff volume is to be pre - treated using a StormwaterR barrels. Such a solution is considered as an  additional  water source at the  aquifer by  the rivers’ banks. Also, it is  a measure of  water cycle improvement. The project is completed by a SwermR preventing system for accidental situation, such as  leakage  or  accidents  of  vehicles  and  potential  pollution  and  risks  of  vulnerability  for  the  potablewater wells.
