AB  - One of the key problems that occurs in the management of the maintenance of state transport infrastructure facilities is the lack of systematized and updated information on the condition of the elements of infrastructure facilities such as the condition of embankments, bridges, tunnels, retaining structures etc. Systematized information enables rational, efficient maintenance, timely reactions that will reduce the risk of building failures and increase traffic safety. In addition, such an approach contributes to the optimization of the allocation of budget funds for that purpose and the rational use of available technical resources. Management of the maintenance process of retaining structures requires the formation of a unique (central) database that will record all retaining structures that meet the prescribed criteria for recording and systematically monitor their condition over time. This paper presents the methodology for the formation and development of a database of retaining structures, using examples of good practice.

AB  - Klimatske promene negativno utiču na životnu sredinu, privredu, zdravlje i bezbednost
ljudi. Sa intenziviranjem klimatskih promena tokom 21. veka ugrožena je i geotehnička
infrastruktura. Poznavanjem trenutnih i budućih klimatskih trendova u Evropi i Srbiji i klimatskih
scenarija može se vršiti analiza i kvantifikacija rizika i odrediti uticaj na geotehničku
infrastrukturu. U takvoj analizi, neizvesnost je neizostavan deo, kao i nepouzdanost/varijabilnost
osnovnih ulaznih promenljivih. Analiza interakcije geotehničke infrastrukture sa atmosferom
podrazumeva modeliranje termo-hidro-mehaničkih procesa koji se odvijaju u tlu i koji su povezani
sa klimatskim i vegetacionim uslovima na površini tla. Termo-hidro-mehaničko sprezanje
predstavlja najnapredniji numerički pristup u analizi uticaja klimatskih promena na infrastrukturne
nasipe.

Application of Hardening State Parameter Constitutive Model for Prediction of Overconsolidated Soft Clay Behavior Due to Embankment Loading

AB  - This paper investigates the possibility of the application of the HArdening State Parameter (HASP) constitutive model for numerical modelling of overconsolidated soft clay under embankment loading. The HASP constitutive model is a critical state soil model with a combined hardening rule that uses a state parameter to determine the dilatancy of overconsolidated clay. The model overcomes some shortcomings of the Modified Cam Clay (MCC) model in the prediction of overconsolidated clay’s behavior, while preserving the simplicity and the same set of five parameters. The HASP model was implemented in finite element software. In order to verify the applicability of the model in predicting the behavior of soft overconsolidated clay due to embankment loading, two examples reported in the literature are analyzed. The numerical predictions of the HASP model are compared with the field measurements of ground settlements and pore water pressures, and with the MCC model’s predictions. The results indicate that the HASP model predicts the development of the settlements of the overconsolidated soft clay deposits with a high accuracy from an engineering point of view. There are certain deviations from the field measurements in predicting the pore pressure development, which is often observed for other models as well. For the embankment settlement assessment, as important serviceability issue, the HASP model has an advantage over more complex models that require a large number of parameters. Since the parameters of the HASP model are obtained from standard laboratory tests, it can be easily applied for routine geotechnical analyses.

Sanacija temeljne konstrukcije stambenog objekta u Zemunu primenom MEGA šipova

AB  - U radu je dat prikaz sanacionog rešenja temeljne konstrukcije jednog stambenog objekta
u Zemunu. Do oštećenja objekta došlo je usled neravnomernog sleganja temeljnog tla lesoidnog
porekla kao posledica havarije na vodovodnoj infrastrukturi. Sleganjem tla je bilo obuhvaćeno
nekoliko objekata koji su pretrpeli znatna oštećenja. U radu je dat detaljan prikaz usvojene
sanacione mere za objekat u Dobanovačkoj ulici broj 34d , koja se bazirala na primeni "Mega"
šipova.

AB  - Prikazane su odredbe vezane za projektovanje fleksibilnih ukopanih potpornih zidova na dejstvo zemljotresa za tri izabrana seizmička propisa – Evrokod 8, nacrta Pravilnika o tehničkim normativima za projektovanje i proračun inženjerskih objekata u seizmičkim područjima iz 1986. godine i prema odredbama američkih propisa AASHTO za seizmički proračun potpornih konstrukcija iz 2009. godine. Na primeru jednostavne ukopane nepoduprte
potporne konstrukcije izvedene u krupnozrnom tlu izvršena je uporedna analiza seizmičkog proračuna primenjući dva numericka postupka prema nabrojanim propisa. Određeni su seizmički pritisci tla, potrebne dubine ukopavanja, kao i pomeranja. Iz rezultata proračuna izvedeni su zaključci i date preporuke za analizu ovog tipa potpornih konstrukcija na dejstvo
zemljotresa.

AB  - U radu je prikazan kratak pregled odredbi Evrokoda 7 za proračun
aksijalne nosivosti šipova. Date su smernice i preporuke za proračun aksijalne
nosivosti utisnutih MEGA šipova u skladu sa izabranim proračunskim
pristupom prema nacionalnom prilogu za Evrokod 7 (Deo 1) u Srbiji i
specifičnostima tehnologije izvođenja. Prikazana je uporedna analiza proračuna
prognozne nosivosti MEGA šipova prema Evrokodu 7 i ranijem Pravilniku o
tehničkim normativima za temeljenje građevinskih objekata, zasnovanom na
teoriji dopuštenih napona, na primeru sanacije temelja stambene zgrade u
Zemunu. Dobijeni rezultati potvrđuju adekvatnost izabranog proračunskog
pristupa u nacionalnom prilogu i predloženih smernica za proračun nosivosti
MEGA šipova.
AB  - Short review of provisions of Eurocode 7 for determination of pile axial bearing
capacity is given in this paper. Design guidelines and recommendations for determination
of bearing capacity of jacked-in MEGA piles, according to pile installation
technology and chosen design approach in National Annex for Eurocode 7 (Part 1) in
Serbia are presented. A validation of proposed guidelines through comparison with previous
concept of allowable pile force is presented on the example of the rehabilitation of
the foundations of a residential building in Zemun, Serbia. Obtained results confirm the
adequacy of chosen design approach and proposed guidelines for determination of bearing
capacity of MEGA piles.

MEGA šipova., Short review of provisions of Eurocode 7 for determination of pile axial bearing
capacity is given in this paper. Design guidelines and recommendations for determination
of bearing capacity of jacked-in MEGA piles, according to pile installation
technology and chosen design approach in National Annex for Eurocode 7 (Part 1) in
Serbia are presented. A validation of proposed guidelines through comparison with previous
concept of allowable pile force is presented on the example of the rehabilitation of
the foundations of a residential building in Zemun, Serbia. Obtained results confirm the
adequacy of chosen design approach and proposed guidelines for determination of bearing
capacity of MEGA piles.",

AB  - U radu je dat pregled metoda za numeričku integraciju relacija elasto-plastičnih
konstitutivnih modela za tlo. Prikazan je inkrementalno-iterativan postupak proračuna
metodom konačnih elemenata, sa osvrtom na značajan uticaj algoritama za integraciju
konstitutivnih relacija na tačnost određivanja naponsko-deformacijskih veličina definisanih
modelom. Dat je pregled metoda integracije sa opštom podelom na implicitne i eksplicitne
metode. Detaljnije je prikazan algoritam za tri odabrane metode koje se mogu primeniti na
elasto-plastične modele za tlo sa ocenom ispunjenosti zahteva pouzdanosti, tačnosti i
efikasnosti: metodu vodećeg parametra, metodu povratnog preslikavanja i “substepping“
metodu.
AB  - A brief overview of methods for numerical integration of stress-strain relations of elastoplastic
constitutive models for soil is presented. Firstly, incremental-iterative procedure for
finite element method is described with emphasis on the importance of algorithms for
numerical integration of constitutive relations. A review of explicit and implicit methods is
given. A more detailed assessment of fulfillment of the requirements of reliability, accuracy
and efficiency is given for three methods: governing parameter method, return mapping
algorithm and substepping algorithm.

AB  - U okviru koncepta granične površi formulisan je konstitutivni model koji uvodi stanje tla
kao bitnu odrednicu mehaničkog ponašanja. Definisanjem zakona ojačanja u funkciji
parametra stanja, kao i stepena prekonsolidacije, omogućeno je opisivanje brojnih
elemenata mehaničkog ponašanja prekonsolidovanih glina u dreniranim i nedreniranim
uslovima. Izvedena je jednačina putanje efektivnih napona u nedreniranim uslovima.
Validacija modela je izvršena kroz poređenje sa publikovanim rezultatima nedreniranih
triaksijalnih opita.

AB  - Invention of cross-laminated timber (CLT) was a big milestone for building with wood. Due to novelty of CLT and timber’s complex mechanical behavior, the existing design codes cover only rectangular CLT panels, simply supported along 2 parallel or all 4 edges, making numerical methods necessary in other cases. This paper presents a practical engineering tool for stress and deflection prediction of CLT panels with non-classical boundary conditions, based on the software for the computational analysis of laminar composites, previously developed by the authors. Diagrams applicable in engineering practice are developed for some common cases. The presented methodology could be a basis for more detailed design handbooks and guidelines for various layouts of CLT panels and different types of loadings.
AB  - Појава унакрсно-ламелираног дрвета (CLT) представља прекретницу у градњи дрветом. Како је CLT нов материјал са сложеним механичким понашањем, постојећи стандарди за прорачун покривају само слободно ослоњене правоугаоне панеле. Стога су нумеричке методе неопходне у осталим случајевима. У овом раду је представљен практичан инжењерски алат за прорачун напона и угиба CLT панела са нестандарним условима ослањања, базиран на (од стране аутора) раније развијеном програму за прорачун ламинатних композита. Дати су дијаграми за поједине случајеве који су примењиви у инжењерској пракси. Ова методологија може бити основа за детаљније смернице при прорачуну CLT панела различитих облика, услова ослањања и оптерећења.

AB  - Standard SRPS EN 1997-1 je krajem 2018. godine preveden i usvojen, dok je izrada nacionalnih priloga u završnoj fazi. S tim u vezi kao i zbog brojnih nedoumica stručne javnosti u vezi sa primenom EN 1997-1, autori su u ovom radu dali pojašnjenja procesa projektovanja aksijalno pritisnutih šipova prema EN7. Razlike između domaćeg pravilnika i EN7 ilustrovane su kroz numerički primer, čiji je primarni cilj uporedna analiza dužina šipova prema tradicionalnom postupku(globalni faktor sigurnosti) i prema EN7 (parcijalni faktori). Sprovedene analize potvrdile su podobnost preporučene vrednosti modelskog faktora γM date u nacrtu nacionalnog priloga.
AB  - The standard SRPS EN 1997-1 was translated and adopted at the end of 2018, while the development of national annexes is in the final stage. In this regard, and due to concerns of engineering community about the application of EN 1997-1, the authors of this paper have provided clarification of the design process of axially loaded compression piles according EN7. The differences between the national code of practice and EN7 are illustrated through a design example, which aimed to compare pile lengths obtained applying the traditional procedure (global security factor) and to EN7 (partial factors). The performed analyses confirmed the suitability of the recommended value of the model factor γM provided in the draft national annex.

AB  - This paper presents the evaluation of methods for predicting the ultimate axial bearing capacity of single piles based on the cone penetration test (CPT) results, and the evaluation of static methods based on the effective and total stress analysis. Seventeen jacked-in MEGA piles and eight Franki piles of different lengths are considered. The results show that the Bustamante & Gianeselli (LCPC) method is the most appropriate for the studied geotechnical conditions and pile types.

AB  - The subject of this paper is a comparative analysis of the alternative solutions for the construction of the supply tunnel section of HPP "Dabar" from km 4 + 272.54 to km 12 + 125.0 with the application of TBM technology, milling machines technology and combinations of TBM technology and milling machines. Hydraulic tunnel of the HPP "Dabar" is a tunnel under the pressure with a length of 12125.0 m, which will conduct water from the reservoir Nevesinje to the machine building of the hydropower plant "Dabar" in Dabarsko polje (Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina). Four different construction alternatives of the mentioned tunnel section were analysed: use of milling machines, use of Gripper TBM, use of Double Shield TBM, a combination of Gripper TBM and milling machines.

Evaluation of the benefits of utilization of fly ash as a material for road subgrade

AB  - The assessment of potential effects of the application of fly ash in road construction was based on the results of tests of fly ash from two thermal power plants in Serbia and three characteristic soil types: The medium plasticity clay, silty-sandy clay and high plasticity clay. The physical and mechanical characteristics of the stabilization of the above three types of soils with different percentages of fly ash and stabilizers (cement/lime) were determined in the study, and pavement designs for three traffic levels, from 1,000 to 10,000 vehicles/day were developed. The savings that can be achieved by using fly ash are going up to 16.8% depending on the type of material in the subgrade and the level of traffic. The potential savings are higher if the subsoil has lower bearing capacity, and if the traffic level is higher.

AB  - This paper describes the solution of the rehabilitation of the foundations of the building of the Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade, which suffered damage as a result of differential settlements, which happened several times during the exploitation. It was determined that the cause of settlements was moisturing of loess soil due to periodic watter spilling from da- maged water network. Rehabilitation is done by jacking of MEGA piles, which prevents the appearance of additional settlements. The rehabilitation was carried out in 2012-2013. In a second part of the paper, the evaluation of pile capacity prediction methods based on CPT test results is carried out by comparing with the measured pile jacking force.

AB  - Savremeni propisi i praksa u projektovanju objekata visokogradnja ne razmatraju u
dovoljnoj meri mogućnost da dođe do sudara međusobno bliskih objekata tokom dejstva
zemljotresa. U radu je dat kratak osvrt na dosada zabeležene slučajeve sudaranja objekata i
analiza nastale štete. Nakon toga, prikazane su metode analize sudaranja dva bliska objekta. Te
metode se mogu podeliti grubo na 2D i 3D analize. Date su pretpostavke sa kojima se ulazi u
analizu, matematički opis problema, analitička i numerička rešenja. Date su neke smernice za
numeričko modeliranje problema i analizu dobijenih rezultata. Izvršen je pregled seizmičkih
propisa i aktuelnih istraživanja vezanih za temu sudaranja objekata. Kao zaključak, date su
smernice za moguća dalja istraživanja.
AB  - Contemporary codes and practice in building design do not take adequately as an
option pounding and collision of adjacent buildings during earthquake. A brief overview of historic
data related to pounding of building and recorded damage is given. After that, methods for
building pounding analyses are presented. Those methods can roughly be divided into two groups,
2D and 3D analyses. For both methods, basic assumptions for analysis, the mathematical
description, analytical and numerical solutions are presented. Guidelines for numerical analysis
and interpretation of obtained results are given. An overview of seismic codes and current research
related to building pounding analysis is given. As conclusion, guidelines for future research are
given.

AB  - U radu je ukratko opisana problematika proračuna AB okvira sa zidanom ispunom primenom nelinearne statičke metode(pushover analiza). Prikazani su različiti načini modeliranja zidane ispune. Izvršena je pushover analiza AB okvira (P+5) sa zidanom ispunom. Prvo je izvršeno dimenzionisanje AB okvira prema Evrokodu. Nakon toga je sprovedena pushover analiza AB okvira primenom programskog paketa SAP2000. Razmatran je model AB okvira bez ispune i model gde je ispuna modelirana pomoću zamenjujućih dijagonala. Na kraju je data uporedna analiza rezultata iz ova dva modela.
AB  - In this paper, procedures used for static nonlinear analysis (pushover analysis) of RC frames with masonry infill are presented. Also, different ways how to model masonry infill are described. On the example of RC frames with five stories, the application of pushover analysis is presented. As a first step, RC frame is designed according to Eurocodes. After that, pushover analysis is conducted using somputer program SAP2000. Two computer models are considered. One of RC frame without masonry infill, and other where masonry infill is modeled using diagonal struts. As conclusion, a comparative study of results obtained from previosly described computer models of RC frame is given.

AB  - Determination of critical height of vertical slope is a very important task in geotechnical engineering. Recently, increasing number of researchers is suggesting new solutions to this task using principles of fracture mechanics, instead of classical solutions based on principles of soil mechanics. This is especially used when tension crack is present in soil. In this paper, a solution to this problem based on limit equilibrium and a solution based on upper bound theorem of limit analysis. is presented. Also, analysis of several papers from different researchers, who used fracture mechanics to solve this problem are considered. Findings obtained in those papers are presented and conclusions are made. At the end, authors’ suggestions of the way to solve this problem are given.
