AB  - Razmatra se primena ortogonalnih i neortogonalnih mreža u modelima prostornog tečenja. Za analizu je izabrano rečno ušće, jer je na ušću tečenje izrazito prostorno, a korito ima složen oblik. Na kvalitet rezultata dobijenih numeričkim simulacijama pored pravilnog izbora numeričke metode, bitno utiče i izbor tipa računske mreže. Neortogonalna mreža se svojim oblikom bolje prilagođava čvrstoj granici od ortogonalne, pa je pogodnija za predstavljanje
računskih oblasti složenog oblika kakvo je ušće. Cilj rada je da se kroz uporednu kvalitativnu analizu rezultata utvrde razlike između dva tipa računskih
mreža. Poređenje rezultata je obavljeno na osnovu tipa sekundarnog strujanja koje nastaje na ušću i nizvodno od ušća pri različitim odnosima inercijalnih sila reke i pritoke.
AB  - Application of orthogonal and non-orthogonal grids in numerical models of the three-dimensional flow is considered. A river confluence is chosen as an example due to strong three-dimensional flow effects occurring at the confluence and the complex bathymetry of the river bed. In addition to the type of numerical method/scheme used, the quality of the numerical simulation results depends on the choice of the computational grid, too. In contrast to orthogonal grids, the non-orthogonal ones are better aligned with the boundary. Hence, they are more suitable for discretisation of the complex flow domains such as the river confluence than the orthogonal ones. The paper aims at investigating the difference in the numerical simulation results obtained with the two types of grids. The investigation is rather qualitative than the quantitative one. The results are discussed in terms of the type of the secondary flow patterns developed in the confluence and the post-confluence channel under
different flow conditions at the confluence.

AB  - In this paper, the confluence hydrodynamics at the mouth of the Sava and Danube Rivers in
the city of Belgrade is analysed by means of the three-dimensional numerical model. The
confluence offers excellent possibilities for such investigation as the two morphological
features typical for a river confluence are present: bed elevation discordance at the entrance to
the confluence and the scour hole in the post-confluence channel. The results are discussed in
terms of the secondary flow pattern. Since the non-defomble bed is assumed, the nature of

AB  - Najveći problem zaliva je zasipanje - prirodan proces koji se ne može izbeći. Visoki troškovi održavanja zaliva (bagerovanja mulja i čišćenja obala) nameću potrebu mera za smanjenje uvlačenja nanosa u zaliv. Budući da je uzrok zasipanja mešnje rećne vode opterećene nanosom i vode zaliva, smanjenjem količine vode koja dospeva u zaliv može se smanjiti zasipanje. Ovaj problem se može rešiti odredjivanjem najpovoljnijeg oblika ulaza u zaliv. U ovom radu je prikazano oblikovanje ulaza pomoću modela ravanskog i prostornog tečenja. Kao primer, prikazani su rezultati koji se odnose na oblikovanje ulaza u Čukarički zaliv.
AB  - Bays suffer from siltation, which is a natural process that cannot be avoided. Main cause of this process is mixing of river-water containing suspended sediment and water of a river-bay. High costs of maintenance - dredging and disposal of contaminated sludge indicate that siltation process must be reduced. Therefore by reducing the amount of river-water and bay-water mixing, siltation can be significantly scaled down. Such problem can be solved by determining an 
optimal designing of bay entrance. This paper deals with the problem of defining a shape of bay entrance using 2D and 3D numerical model. For illustration, results pertaining to the design of entrance of Čukarica Bay, are presented.

AB  - A model developed for simulation of both discontinuous clear-water flows and hyper-concentrated discontinuous flows is validated on a real dike failure event, which happened on an ash-tailings impoundment on site. Numerical model is based on the MacCormack finite-difference scheme and involves constitutive equation in a form of the general yield-power law (Herschel-Bulkley's rheological model). The influence of the solid phase volumetric concentration on the propagation characteristics of the dike-break wave is analysed. Rheological properties of ash-water mixtures are determined in the laboratory using a tube viscometer. Definition of the corresponding constitutive equations is based on the test results. In that respect, the rheological properties of ash may be described by the Bingham model.

AB  - Влажна земљишта су, због непознавања њихове улоге у процесима који се одвијају у речној до-лини, до скоро уништавана као безвредне површине и простори. У овом раду даје се преглед њи-хових улога у хидролошком циклусу, кружењу материје и очувању билошке разноврсности и ко-ментарише њихов значај у очувању, заштити и обнављању речних долина, јер су то предуслови за спречавање њиховог даљег непромишљеног уништавања, успешно планирање и израду проје-ката обнављања речних долина и сагледавање могућности њиховог коришћења за задовољење људских потреба.
AB  - Until recently, the wetlands have been destroyed as worthless areas due to the ignorance of their role in the processes that take place in the stream corridors. The paper presents an overview of their roles in the hydrologic cycle, biogeochemical cycling and supporting biodiversity. In addition, their significan-ce in the stream corridor preservation, protection and restoration is discussed. Both, the knowledge of their role in and their significance for the stream corridors, is essential for preventing further imprudent destruction thereof, successful planning and preparation of the stream restoration projects, and the recognition of their possible usage in satisfying human needs.

AB  - Захваљујући бројним улогама у хидролошком циклусу, кружењу и задржавању хемијских и био-лошких материја и очувању биолошке разноврсности, влажна земљишта представљају ресурс којим би се могле задовољити различите људске потребе. Сагледавање и разумевање система људских потреба и дугорочних интереса људске заједнице, са једне стране и расположивих ресу-рса и технолошких поступака који обезбеђују коришћење тих ресурса, са друге стране, предста-вља суштину маркетиншког приступа искоришћењу влажних земљишта. У раду се истовремено посматрају инжењерски и маркетиншки приступ, јер се само комбинацијом инжењерске поузда-ности и начина интерпретације разумљивог ширем кругу инвеститора може очекивати повећање вероватноће реализације пројекта, у овом случају пројекта искоришћења влажних земљишта.
AB  - Owing to their numerous roles in the hydrological cycle, biogeochemical cycling and supporting bio-diversity, the wetlands present a valuable resource, the utilisation of which might have led to satisf-action of various human needs. The essence of the marketing approach to wetland utilisation is recogn-ised through: understanding and recognition of the scope of human needs and adjustment of the long-term interests of the society, on one side and recognition and knowledge of the available resources and technological processes for utilisation thereof, on the other side. In this paper, both the engineering and the marketing approach are considered, since only combination of the engineering reliability and the presentation of the facts in such a manner that broader group of investors (who are usually not engin-eering educated) may understand the problem, can increase probability for acceptance and realisation of the project.

abstract = "Захваљујући бројним улогама у хидролошком циклусу, кружењу и задржавању хемијских и био-лошких материја и очувању биолошке разноврсности, влажна земљишта представљају ресурс којим би се могле задовољити различите људске потребе. Сагледавање и разумевање система људских потреба и дугорочних интереса људске заједнице, са једне стране и расположивих ресу-рса и технолошких поступака који обезбеђују коришћење тих ресурса, са друге стране, предста-вља суштину маркетиншког приступа искоришћењу влажних земљишта. У раду се истовремено посматрају инжењерски и маркетиншки приступ, јер се само комбинацијом инжењерске поузда-ности и начина интерпретације разумљивог ширем кругу инвеститора може очекивати повећање вероватноће реализације пројекта, у овом случају пројекта искоришћења влажних земљишта., Owing to their numerous roles in the hydrological cycle, biogeochemical cycling and supporting bio-diversity, the wetlands present a valuable resource, the utilisation of which might have led to satisf-action of various human needs. The essence of the marketing approach to wetland utilisation is recogn-ised through: understanding and recognition of the scope of human needs and adjustment of the long-term interests of the society, on one side and recognition and knowledge of the available resources and technological processes for utilisation thereof, on the other side. In this paper, both the engineering and the marketing approach are considered, since only combination of the engineering reliability and the presentation of the facts in such a manner that broader group of investors (who are usually not engin-eering educated) may understand the problem, can increase probability for acceptance and realisation of the project.",
