AB - In certain cases, solar panels are placed on suitable structures that are supported on the ground,
and this includes the appropriate dimensioning of anchor supports, i.e. suppor elements, within the
framework of the concrete construction project. Bearing in mind the great variations in soil qualiy
and different ambient conditions that depend on the location, different ways of dimensioning have
been developed, from experiential, through those defined based on soil conditions and theoretical
models, and to numerical ones characterized by the appropriate degree of accuracy. The paper
presents the principle of in situ testing of the load capacity of trial anchors using specially
developed apparatus, in order to check the designed conditions and possible correction of this part
of the construction project.

AB - This research evaluates the effects of the acid environment on sulfur-polymer composite. For this
purpose, a morphology investigation consisting of mathematical morphology analysis and SEM
analysis was performed Based on the obtained results, insignificant changes in the pore system of
sulfur-polymer composite in terms of deterioration, pore distribution, and homogeneity were
observed. Namely, no signs of severe damage were detected at the surface and inside the samples.
With increasing the acid exposure time, the material exhibited further changes in the direction of
homogenization and drowning of the aggregate in the sulfur binder compared with the starting
structure. These facts indicate that sulfur-polymer composite can be effectively used as a
construction material in an acid environment.

AB - Geodetic monitoring of a tall structure means employing various methods of measurement and data processing for assessing its verticality. Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) is a method of collecting lots of quality spatial data in a short time period. It enables detailed surface 3D parametric modelling. Advantages over the traditional cross-sectioning approach include direct obtaining of the structure axis inclination, analysing structure deformations relative to the modelled surface, and so forth. The subject of research was 52-metre-tall cylinder-shaped bell tower of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Belgrade, Serbia, which has been inclined since its completion in 1962. An original algorithm was developed for estimating parameters of a cylinder approximating the tower surface and their precision. The horizontal displacement of the cylinder top base centre ranging from 1.174 m to 1.196 m over the five-year period of geodetic monitoring of the tower indicates the clear existence of the structure tilting trend.

AB - The effect of partial replacement of natural filler by ground waste sulfur originated from the oil refining process on fresh and hardened properties of self-compacting concrete was investigated. Properties investigated were slump flow, V-funnel, L-box, and sieve segregation of fresh concrete mixes; and compressive, flexural, and bond (pull off) strengths, dynamic modulus of elasticity, ultrasonic pulse velocity, dynamic Poisson’s ratio, specific electrical resistance, density, and microstructure of hardened concrete. Results showed a slight decline in compressive, flexural, and bond strengths and dynamic elasticity modulus with increased addition of sulfur. Specific electrical resistance and density were higher for samples containing sulfur. Also, scanning electron microscopy indicated a slight porosity increase of the samples containing sulfur. Having in mind that, in the case of waste valorization in concrete, all properties of self-placing concrete should remain within acceptable levels or improve, this study proved that mixtures containing ground sulfur as a partial replacement for filler can be used for structural applications.

AB - The main aim of this study was to investigate the application of benthic diatoms and the efficiency of diatom indices in water ecological assessment of rivers in Serbia, as well as the influence of trout farms on rivers water quality. Research was conducted in one year period along the Crnica and Radovanska rivers (Eastern Serbia), in 11 sampling sites (taking into account the position of trout fish farms that are built on both rivers). Results showed that fish farms affect the physical and chemical parameters, as well as diversity of the epilithic diatom assemblage along the rivers. Canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) indicated that among tested physical and chemical parameters, conductivity “EC”, water hardness “WH”, sulfates “SO42-”, ionized ammonia fraction “NH4+”, nitrates “NO3–“, “pH”, mud, stone and depth were the most important variables affecting the distribution of diatom species. A total of 206 epilithic diatom taxa were recorded in the Radovanska and 170 in the Crnica River. Based on diatom indices, trout fish farms have no significant negative impact on the water quality of the investigated rivers (indices are not enough sensitive). Redundancy analysis (RDA) showed a high degree of correlation between the majority of indices which mostly indicated to good water quality of studied rivers. TID and TDI were the only two indices indicating moderate and poor water quality of both rivers. Water quality based on the TIDRS, the first proposed diatom index for Serbia was differ in two classes in most sites compairing with TID.
