The experimental investigation of punching shear strength of post-tensioned lift slab-edge column connection was simulated using the DIANA Finite Element System. One of the tested specimens was modeled by solid elements and an embedded formulation was used for reinforcement. A non-associated Mohr-Coulomb plasticity based formulation was applied for concrete in compression and a smeared crack approach for the tensile regime. Two different tension softening relations for concrete were used, brittle cracking behavior and linear tension softening. Comparisons with test results were made and they showed that brittle cracking is more appropriate model of concrete post-cracking behavior for punching problem.en
