Investigation of Green Self-Compacting Concrete Made With Recycled Concrete Aggregate
Apstrakt
The use of Self-Compacting Concrete, as a concrete that enables placing without compaction equipment, provides a range of benefits for the contemporary civil engineering practice. The ecological aspect, through possibility of using recycled aggregate obtained by grinding C&D waste concrete, is presented in the paper. The results of physical and mechanical experimental investigation of three concrete mixtures are presented. Besides the reference mixture, two more mixtures were made, prepared with recycled concrete aggregate. One mixture contained 50% mass replacement of coarse river aggregate with recycled concrete aggregate, and in the other one the total mass of coarse aggregate consisted of recycled concrete aggregate of the appropriate size. These series were designed using the Two Stage Mixing Approach (TSMA). Fresh mix tests included: measurement of density, slump flow test, V-funnel and L-box tests. Compressive, flexural, splitting and bond (pull-off) strength were determined on ...the hardened concrete. Tests proved that all the mixtures showed good properties, encouraging the possibility of the recycled concrete aggregate use for production of proper SCC.
