The development of the dynamic stiffness matrix of rectangular plate with symmetrically distributed edge beams using Spectral Element Method (SEM) has been presented in this paper. It is assumed that beams are ideally attached to the plate, which means that the displacements and rotations of the beams and the edge of the plate are equal at all points along the beam. The Projection method and Gorman’s superposition method were used to develop the dynamic stiffness matrix for the transverse vibration of plate with arbitrary boundary conditions. The efficiency and accuracy of the developed dynamic stiffness matrix has been demonstrated on several numerical examples with different type of boundary conditions. For that purpose the computer program has been developed using Matlab.en
