Numerical simulation of the flow field in the vicinity of an intake structure

Abstract
Rad govori o mogućnostima analize strujnog polja u okolini ulaznih građevina pomoću modela ravanskog i prostornog tečenja. Pokazano je da se numeričkim modelima mogu efikasno odrediti hidrauličke i psamološke karakteristike rečnog toka. Posebna pažnja posvećena je određivanju uticaja praga uzvodno od ulaza, koji služi kao mera za smanjenje uvlačenja nanosa. Na primeru vodozahvata ‘Makiš’ na reci Savi, ilustrovano je uspešno rešavanje problema određivanja posledica izazvanih povećanjem njegovog kapaciteta.
This paper deals with the analysis of the flow field in the vicinity of an intake structure. It is shown that flow and psamological characteristics can be determined successfully by 2D and 3D numerical models. Determining the influence of measures for reducing sediment deposition inside the structure was considered as most important. One such measure, a bar located upstream of the intake mouth, proved to be the most difficult task for 2D model. For illustration, results are presented related to the water supply intake "Makiš" on the Sava River.
