dc.description.abstract	In urban areas, increasingly there is a need for building of a higher number of underground floors. Construction of pit protection for deep excavations in urban conditions, next to existing objects in the complicated geotechnical conditions are complex, expensive and time-consuming. Therefore, in recent years specific methods of execution of works such as "top down" system has been applied. In this paper the different methods of design of protection structures for foundation pits is presented.	sr
