In a paper, theoretical bases of the dynamic stiffness method in the analysis of free vibration problem of
plate assemblies are presented. Governing equations are derived based on Mindlin, as well as higherorder
shear deformation theory. Transverse and in-plane vibrations are considered, as well as isotropic
material. Transformation matrix for stiffened plates is derived.
