AB  - Continuous strength method is a contemporary approach to calculation of resistance of stainless steel cross-sections which has been recently developed at the Imperial College of London. The basis of the method is the continuous relation between the slenderness and strain capacity of a
cross-section, nonlinear relation between the stress and strain and the strengthening effects of cold forming. In the paper are presented the fundamental rules for calculation of cross-section resistance
according to continuous strength method; the comparative analysis of design resistance of the compressed cross-section was conducted through a numerical example according to this method and EN 1993-1-4.

AB  - Stainless steel is characterized by a number of features that determine significantly different behaviour of structural members made of this material, compared to equivalent carbon steel members. These characteristics, mostly expressed at compressed members, are reflected in nonlinear stress-
strain behaviour, significant strength enhancements due to cold-working and different thermal characteristic of material. European stainless steel standard EN 1993-1-4 does not give any explicit rules for calculation of resistance of built-up compression members with chords in contact. This paper presents part of the experimental results of flexural buckling ultimate resistance cold-formed built-up members to the around intangible axis. The basic material used in the research is stainless steel with austenitic microstructure 1.4301. Members are made of two C profiles, directly and discontinuously connected in direction of longitudinal axis. The experimental values of ultimate
resistances to flexural buckling around intangible axis are compared with values of ultimate resistances obtained by recommendations of EN 1993-1-4 and EN 1993-1-1

AB  - When analysing slip resistance connections, which are commonly used in-situ assemblied joints of structures dominantly loaded by cyclic loading, for example in bridges, telecommunication towers, towers for wind turbines, we may say that preloaded high strength bolts are their most important part. A level of pretension force in a bolt influences the strength of a slip resistance connection, therefore it is very important to attain a design level of a pretension force. This paper tackles most frequently used methods for measuring of a pretension force in high strength bolts both on site and in a laboratory. Primarily usage of ultrasonic methods, washer like load cells (with strain gauges and piezoelectric), strain gauges installed on the bolt shank and strain gauges installed inside of the bolt shank. The emphasis is both on a use of strain gauges which measure pretension force inhigh strength bolts and on a bolt calibration procedure prior to pretensioning. Installation process of strain gauges in the bolt shank is described in detail and all its specificities are bring to the attention based experimental research conducted on 126 bolts.

AB  - Today, wind power is second largest available renewable resource of energy, with 870 TW (terawatts). Large wind farms, with hundreds of wind towers are big opportunity for steel production industry. Designers and manufacturers of wind towers pay special attention on every single detail, always looking for some new solutions, trying to reduce price of wind towers. Some of the most interesting design and manufacturing details are connections used to assemble sections of tubular steel towers supporting wind turbins. There is traditional and actually more used flange ring connection and on the
other side, as a new proposal which is used more and more, friction connection. In this paper theoretic basis of design of flange ring connection of wind towers is given

AB  - Joint between concrete structural member and steel or timber structural member can be realized with anchor plate which is being embeded in concrete structure during the erection. Anchor plate can be connected with concrete structural member using any standard anchor, with anchors made of ribbed reinforcement or, with group of standard head stud connectors as it is described in this paper. This paper also describes a procedure for calculation of anchor plate shear capacity with connection to concrete member realized with group of head stud connector.

AB  - This paper represents steel structure of the cinema »Ster« which is a part of the shopping mall Delta City in Belgrade. Cinema has six projection rooms with additional contents. There are three levels of structure: main bearing structure, structure of projection rooms and raised floors, gross weight approximately 600 t. All steel columns are free suported. Vertical and roof bracings and stiff composite floors provide stability of structure. Due to complex roof geometry and building particularity, special attentione
had to be paid to designing of joints, production of workshop drawings (software for 3D modeling was used) and planning erection tehnology.

AB  - Modern public buildings, such as multiplex cinemas, along with application of state of the art sound effects brings high acoustic isolation demands. Cinemas are often a part of building complexes such as shopping malls with subjects that produce serious level of noise and vibrations. Usage of modern materials, with specific dynamic characteristics, as a base for supports gives a wide range of possibilities in controlling the amount of noise and vibrations transferred to the structure. This paper gives an example of usage of acoustic pads in steel structure of “Ster” cinemaplex in Belgrade.

AB  - Pod nazivom hladno oblikovani profili (HOP) podrazumevaju se konstruktivni
element! proizvedeni hladnim oblikovanjem iz čeličnih limova i traka valjanjem
ili presovanjem . Hladno oblikovani profili imaju veoma široko polje primene u
g rad jevinarstvu i poslednjih godina su u nekim područjima primene potpuno
istisli vru će valjane profile zbog svojih nesumljivih prednosti. Rožnjače, kao
element noseće konstrukcije zgrada, za koje se najčešće i primenjuju hiadno
oblikovani ^profili otvorenog poprečnog preseka, su bitan element u funkcional-
nom, statičkom pa i u ekonomskom pogledu s obzirom da njihov udeo u ceni
koštanja hala doseže i do 25%. Pristup analizi u projektovanju masovnih eleme-
nata ko nstrukcije, kao što su rožnjače, je bitno različit od pristupa pri pro­
jektovanju unikatnih elemenata. Kod masovne, serijske, proizvodnje neophodno
je sve parametre od uticaja uzeti u što preciznijem obliku, što je jedino mogu-
će ostvariti eksperimentom. U okviru ove disertacije razmatrana su dva bitna
parametra na nosivost rožnjača i to: 1) uticaj tehnologije proizvodnje na me-
haničke karakteristike čeiika i 2) odredjivanje optimalnog statičkog sistema
(kontinualne rožnjače sa podvezicama i kontinualne rožnjače sa preklapanjem)
i konstrukcijskog oblikovanja. U okviru ovih oblasti u tezi su date originalne
podloge u obliku pojednostavljenih i za svakodnevnu inženjersku praksu lako
p rihvatljivih analitičkih izraza i dijagrama na osnovu kojih se mogu projektova-
ti ovakvi savremeni sistemi rožnjača. Svi analitički izrazi su verifikovani sop-
stvenim eksperimentima sprovedenim uz primenu najsavremenije opreme i mer-
nog instrum entarija. Takodje je sprovedena i detaljna tehno-ekonomska analiza
više tipova rožnjača diferenciranih prema sistemima, oblicima i postupku proiz­
vodnje koja je pokazala značajno preimućstvo u pogledu utroška čelika i košta-
nja predloženih Z preseka sistema rožnjača sa podvezicama i sa preklapanjem
u odnosu na sve druge tipove primenjivane u dosadašnjoj p raksi.
