Primena Structure From Motion tehnike za inženjerskogeološko kartiranje podzemnih prostorija

AB  - Početkom 2020. godine za potrebe rekonstrukcije i adaptacije tunela izvršena su inženjerskogeološka istraživanja koja su obuhvatila detaljno inženjerskogeološko rekognosciranje i kartiranje glavnog tunelskog hodnika i svih podzemnih prostorija kao i geofizičko profiliranje. Rad prikazuje mogućnost primene tehnike generisanja modela objekta na osnovu snimaka dobijenih kamerom pri kretanju oko objekta (engl. Structure from motion - SfM) za 3D rekonstrukciju jedne podzemne prostorije tunela „Čajkino brdo“ u Vrnjačkoj Banji za potrebe inženjerskogeološkog kartiranja i parametrizacije.
SfM predstavlja fotogrametrijsku tehniku određivanja 3D strukture objekta, pozicija i orijentacija kamere iz sekvenci dve ili više dvodimenzionalnih slika istog objekta, ali iz različitih položaja kamere (pasivnog senzora). Za razliku od klasične fotogrametrije gde je neophodno poznavanje spoljašnjih i unutrašnih parametara snimaka, SfM proces 3D rekonstrukcije okruženja je prilično automatizovan i lakši jer je najčešće samo potrebno napraviti dovoljan broj fotografija sačinjenih istim senzorom sa različitih položaja. Snimanje se odvija u vidljivom delu spektra i princip 3D rekonstrukcije okruženja je analogan ljudskom vidu, koji na sličan način formira 3D sliku. Primena SfM tehnike u podzemnim prostorijama je kompleksna usled izostanka prirodnog osvetljenja, nemogućnosti GPS pozicioniranja senzora i ograničenog prostora, koji su ključni za njihovu uspešnu primenu i kvalitetne rezultate 3D rekonstrukcije. Dodatni problem predstavljaju senke, koje mogu otežati kvalitetno automatsko povezivanje snimaka, a koje se formiraju primenom veštačkih izvora osvetljavanja da bi se formirao snimak u vidljivom delu spektra. Kod fotogrametrijske rekonstrukcije modela objekta bitno je i da površina objekta bude matirana, tj. bez sjajnih reflektujućih površina kakve su najčešće površine stena u tunelima.
Tokom istraživanja izvršeno je ogledno fotogrametrijsko snimanje odabrane prostorije i obrada dobijenih snimaka primenom SfM tehnike. Snimanje je izvršeno korišćenjem mobilnog telefona Huawei P10 Pro i Xiaomi Mija 360° sferne kamere. Snimanje mobilnim telefonom je vršeno „iz ruke“ i sa „visine očiju posmatrača“ tako da se ostvari najveći mogući preklop između snimaka. Snimanje sfernom kamerom je izvršeno uz pomoć stativa, postavljanjem sferne kamere u pravilnom mrežnom rasporedu na tri različite visine.
Na osnovu snimaka dobijenih na ovaj način, primenom SfM tehnike generisana su dva različita 3D oblaka tačaka koja su upoređena i na osnovu kojih je izvršeno inženjerskogeološko kartiranje podzemne prostorije. 3D oblak tačaka je procesiran, uključujući urazmeravanje, orijentaciju, odnosno rotiranje prostorije u realan položaj i uklanjanje suvišnih tačaka. Na ovaj način, a nakon procesiranja, izvršeno je inženjerskogeološko kartiranje zidova i svoda podzemne prostorije, odnosno određivanje indeksa hrapavosti stenske mase, definisanje strukturnog sklopa tj. utvrđivanje karakterističnih familija pukotina (manuelno i automatski), izradu karakterističnih profila svetlog otvora i analizu njihove stabilnosti uz kritički osvrt.

Geofizička istraživanja tonjenja lesa u Zemunu

AB  - Istražni prostor obuhvata periferni deo Zemunskog lesnog platoa, koji čini značajni deo Zemuna. U prirodnim uslovima teren je okarakterisan kao stabilan, ali se usled prodora veće količine vode u tlo, naročito u dužem vremenskom periodu ili sa većim hidrauličkim pritiskom vode, mogu očekivati naknadna diferencijalna sleganja i deformacije prašinasto peskovitih lesnih naslaga. Usled kolapsa lesnog tla u Novogradskoj ulici u Zemunu, potpuno se urušio jedan prizemni stambeni objekat, oštećenja na dečjem obdaništu su bila tolika da je morao biti srušen, za dva veoma oštećena objekta su projektovane sanacione mere, a deformacije su registrovane na još 10 stambenih objekata, kao i na samoj saobraćajnici. Istraživano područje obuhvata 0,8 ha urbanog područja, gde su registrovane prsline, pukotine i ulegnuća na površini terena koja ukazuju na nejednako sleganje i tonjenje tla i pojavu procesa mehaničke sufozije u centralnom delu istražnog područja. Cilj geofizičkih istraživanja je bio da se registruju potencijalna prisustva podzemnih prostorija, tj. laguma, kao i degradiranih zona sa slabijim fizičko-mehaničkim svojstvima, koje su pretpostavljeni uzrok nestabilnosti tla i oštećenja stambenih objekata. Korišćena je refraktivna seizmometrijska metoda duž dva profila, pri čemu je akvizicija podataka vršena instrumentom RAS-24. Pozicije profila i njihove dužine su odabrane tako da se obuhvati i stabilna i nestabilna zona. Procena stabilnosti navednih zona vršena je na osnovu evidentiranja nastalih oštećenja na objektima u široj zoni profila. Obrada i modelovanje na osnovu podataka dobijenih terenskim merenjima postupkom seizmometrijske refrakcije, izvedene su programskim paketima RAS-24 (System Software i Rayfract), dok je optimizacija i vizuelizacija izvedena programskim paketom Golden Software (Surfer & Grapher). Za oba merena profila generisani su 2D modeli distribucije brzina longitudinalnih seizmoakustičkih talasa, u domenu konačnih elemenata. Analizom dobijenih 2D modela može se zaključiti da duž dva izvedena profila ne postoje indicije o postojanju većih zona smanjenja brzine primarnih talasa (Vp) koje su karakteristične za prisustvo šupljina, odnosno laguma. Međutim, moguće je uočiti razlike u distribuciji Vp na profilima. Na jednom od profila, koji je pozicioniran na strani ulice gde je dokumentovano i vizuelno uočljivo sleganje objekata, pojavljuje se veća debljina sredine sa smanjenom brzinom Vp. Navedeno može ukazivati na prisustvo zone sa izmenjenim i slabijim fizičko-mehaničkim svojstvima tla. Za potvrdu takvih pretpostavki neophodno je izvesti dodatna geotehnička i inženjersko-geološka ispitivanja.Ovaj rad finansiran je po „Ugovoru o realizaciji i finansiranju naučnoistraživačkog rada NIO u 2022. godini“, br. 451-03-68/2022-14/ 200126.

Machine learning based landslide assessment of the Belgrade metropolitan area: Pixel resolution effects and a cross-scaling concept

AB  - Improvements of Machine Learning-based landslide prediction models can be made by optimizing scale, customizing training samples to provide sets with the best examples, feature selection, etc. Herein, a novel approach, named Cross-Scaling, is proposed that includes the mixing of training and testing set resolutions. Hypothetically, training on a coarser resolution dataset and testing the model on a finer resolution should help the algorithm to better generalize ambiguous examples of landslide classes and yield fewer over/underestimations in the model. This case study considers the City of Belgrade area for training and its south-eastern suburb for testing. The dataset is exceptionally rich with detailed geological, morphological and environmental data, so 24 landslide predictors were used for multi-class mapping: Class 0 – stable ground, Class 1 - dormant landslides, and Class 2 – active landslides. Two state-of-the-art algorithms were implemented: Support Vector Machines and Random Forest. Additionally, our modelling included variants with an implemented feature selection by using the Information Gain and Correlation Feature Selection. All these variants were modelled across four resolutions - 25, 50, 100 and 200 m, whereby Cross-Scaling was implemented as follows: training on 50 and testing on 25, training on 100 and testing on 25, training on 100 and testing on 50, training on 200 and testing on 25, training on 200 and testing on 50, and finally, training on 200 and testing on 100 m resolution datasets. The results clearly show that Cross-Scaling improves the performance of the model, especially for Class 2, when compared to the performance of their non-Cross-Scaled counterparts; this thereby proves the initial hypothesis. Random Forest models tend to be less sensitive to scale and feature selection effects than the SVM. Class 1 remains the most difficult to discern, leaving some room for even further customization and adjustments. In conclusion, the Cross-Scaling technique is proposed as a method that could become a promising tool for training/testing protocols in landslide assessment.

AB  - The Umka landslide is systematically investigated and one of the biggest inhabited landslides in Serbia. Landslide is active, with known sliding intensity (more or less) for last 50 years, while landslide is old couple of hundred years, and its genesis is related with evolution of Sava meanders. Although the landslide is known and occasionally mentioned in mass media, certain migration of population is evident, so besides permanent displacement from the landslide – some new housing objects are notices with permanent residents, even within the most active and most affected part of the landslide. According to previous research, a landslide is divided into three zones (blocks) that are different by sliding depth, dynamics and by slope morphology. The last object inventorying was performed during 1989–1990 by the Highway Institute from Belgrade when the map of the damaged objects (with the type of foundation, walls, and category of object) was created, local water system was mapped, while evaluation of population was performed by last known census data. Since the last inventorying was performed 25 years ago, and a landslide is still not stabilized although project documentation for stabilization exists from that period, the vulnerability of population is still actual while in some parts it is even more intensive which is a consequence of unplanned and illegal construction works during ’60 and ’70 of XIX century, when most of objecst were built (over 250 of them).Considering above, there was a need for inventtorying of all present building objects which are within the landslide cadaster border, so such that data can be easily compared with previous research. The base for the creating new inventorying sheet was surveying sheet from 1989. New sheet contains 11 groups of question: 1) Basic data about building object 2) Data about object construction 3) Data about object deformations 4) Data about object foundation 5) Data about household 6) Damage estimation 7) Emergency and temporary interventions 8) Recovery measures 9) Data about household water, surface and groundwaters 10) Sketch of object damage 11) Other comments. Previous inventorying didn’t include the question about householdand population working and life habits which is necessary data for the risk estimation. Inventorying was carried out from September to November 2017. and more than 360 objects were evidenced with more than 500 residents. Each object was photographed and located by the coordinate of the object central point with previously written or oral permission of the resident or object owner. More than 95% of object owners and residents gave the permission for the collecting the data, while there was a lot of objects that were abandoned and which was only evidenced from the outside by construction condition. Detailed results with following statistics will be presented after the data processing that will be done by the end of the 2018 year. Inventorying was performed within the project grant no. TR36009 that is financed by Ministry of education, science and technological development of the Republic of Serbia.

AB  - This paper presents the results of uniaxial compression strength tests performed on samples composed of sandstone and siltstone discs. Samples are loaded until failure, with the aim of determining the dependency between uniaxial compressive strength and the volumetric percentage of siltstone. In order to precisely determine the moment and mechanism of failure of each composite sample, the process was recorded with a high-speed camera (120 fps). Uniaxial compressive strength decreases exponentially with an increase of siltstone volumetric participation. The critical ratio at which the uniaxial compressive strength of the composite sample equals the strength of the uniform siltstone sample was obtained at a siltstone percentage of 60%. The failure mechanism is highly dependent on the siltstone percentage, and occurs as shear or tensile failure, or combined shear-tensile failure in individual discs or throughout the entire composite sample. Comparison of the obtained exponential equation with empirical suggestions shows a good correspondence. It is suspected that the disagreement between the particular conclusions of this study and conclusions of other laboratory studies is due mainly to sample micro-heterogeneity.

AB  - This study investigates weathering indded failures of the heterogeneous fissile rock mass consisting of sandstone and shale. Discontinuity data was collected and the geological strength index (GSI) value was determined immediately after excavation based on the quantified GSI chart. Slake durability tests were performed up to the fifth cycle. Samples were exposed to natural climatic conditions during a twelve-month period, in order to quantify slaking process by means of disintegration ratio. As a consequence of exposure, samples disintegrated into smaller fragments. On these bases, the model aimed at addressing delayed failure of cuts is proposed in the paper.

AB  - Pri sanaciji klizišta, pojave koja je veoma česta na putevima Srbije, brojne su nepoznanice kod procene
troškova radova predviđenih za njihovu stabilizaciju. Veoma su važni uticajni činioci većeg broja promenljivih (kojima se
opisuju svojstva terena i dimenzije kliznog tela) na cenu konstrukcije pri saniranju klizišta. Takođe, građevinski zahvati
koji se izvode u cilju poboljšanja stabilnosti padina su dosta raznovrsni, što uz različite uzroke pojave klizišta i njihove
elemente, ima za posledicu široke raspone utrošenih sredstava po sanaciji. Kako je apsolutno neophodno stabilizovati
ugrožene saobraćajnice ili druge objekte na nestabilnim terenima, veoma je važno, svakako i za našu državu, racionalno
korišćenje sredstava koja se opravdano izdvajaju u tu svrhu.
AB  - Landslides are frequent natural hazard occurrence on the road network in Serbia. During their stabilization,
there are usually uncertainties regarding stabilization work price evaluation. Conditioning factors of numerous variables
(that are describing the terrain properties and landslides dimensions) which are affecting the final price of stabilization
are of great importance. Also, construction works that are usually performed for the purpose of slope stabilization are
various, and when they are combined with different landslide triggering factors and their elements - as a consequence
we have a significant discrepancy of funds that are spent for stabilization. Since absolute stabilization of landslides that
are occurring across infrastructure and other objects on unstable slopes is necessary, it is very important for each
country and Serbia as well to rationalize the use of budget funds that are allocated for that purpose.

Implementation of projects related to landslide repair in Serbia in 2016

AB  - After activation of numerous landslides in Serbia in the spring of 2006 and especially after the floods in May 2014, as well as after occurrences of new and reactivation of older landslides, there was an evident need for the national authorities to choose the systematic approach. This enabled, along with providing financial resources and after finalising project proposals, the start of the implementation of various engineering works on remediation of landslides across Serbia and especially in urbanised areas and where transport infrastructure was at the highest risk. The current dynamics of the implementation of projects related to landslide remediation, implemented through The Public Investment Management Office is presented in this paper. The endeavor of the state is evident to use financial support received from international community for the purpose of water damage recovery after the floods in May 2014 in a most possible effective and useful way, with the entire process completely transparent. Through Serbian Government's Public Investment Management Office (former Office for Flood Affected Areas Assistance and Rehabilitation) the implementation of remediation of over thirty landslides in different areas in Serbia is in its final phase. More precise data on the degree of implementation of the works on stabilisation of the terrain and prices of construction works are presented in this paper in detail, concerning that the data is being updated almost daily. Some of the landslides were repaired during the spring; for some supplementary project documentation had been develope; for all landslides tendering procedures were implemented in order to select the contractor with the most favorable offer. For projects and conduction of remedial works (mostly related to slope stabilization in zones of transport routes) financial resources were obtained through EU Solidarity Fund. Remedial works at the location of all the included landslides have to be finished by the middle of September 2016. Dozens of experts in the field of engineering geology and geotechnical engineering from the entire country participated in the development of necessary geotechnical basis for the appropriate design of remediation measures. Directly under the UNOPS-ROADS project within the next year, around 30 more landslides of different sizes, activated on the roads of Serbia will be repaired.

Sensitivity Analysis of a Physically Based Distributed Model

AB  - The objective of this study is to perform a sensitivity analysis of the SHETRAN model on the example of the torrential Lukovska River catchment in Serbia. The sensitivity analysis of the model was performed for the following parameters: the vertical saturated hydraulic conductivity of the subsurface soil, the horizontal saturated hydraulic conductivity in the saturated zone, the Strickler roughness coefficients for overland flow and for streams, the available water content in the soil and the erodibility coefficients due to rain and due to overland flow. It can be concluded that the water and sediment discharge are very sensitive to the values of the vertical saturated hydraulic conductivity of the subsurface soil in the range of 0.001 to 0.1 m/day; to the values of the horizontal saturated hydraulic conductivity in the saturated zone in the range of 0.01 to 5 m/day and to the values of the Strickler's coefficients for overland flow and for rivers in the range of 0.1 to 100 m1/3s-1 and 15 to 40 m1/3s, respectively. The sediment concentrations in a flow and sediment discharge are very sensitive to the values of erodibility coefficient due to overland flow in the range of 0.5 to 1.5 mg/m2s and to the values of erodibility coefficient due to rain in the range between 0.1 and 40 J1. The obtained results could be used to simplify the parameter calibration procedure and to facilitate estimation of parameters in ungauged mountainous basins of similar characteristics.

Influences of elevation on precipitations in Serbia

AB  - Analyses of ellevations influences on precipitations in Serbia are based on data from 26 pluviometrique stations, and 437 rain-gauges. Influences are studied for yearly averages, maximal daily data, and heavy rain durations from 10 minutes to 24 hours. For heavy rains elevation influences on main statistics (averages, coefficient of variations and skewness) and design rains (return period 100 years) are analysed. It is shown that range of elevations in Serbia is not wide, so other factors (as the stocastic rain characteristics) are predominant. It is sugested that avalilable metheorological radars data must be detailed studies and used in hydrological practice for the improvement of precipitations prediction and real-time floods forecasting in Serbia.
AB  - Ubrzani razvoj brzine procesuiranja i kapaciteta memorija računara omogućili su uvođenje hidroloških modela sa distribuiranim parametrima i proračune prostornih karakteristika u okviru GIS-orijentisanih modela. Pri modeliranju se često iz literature preuzimaju određene relacije bez prethodne provere na podacima sa konkretnog sliva. Padavine predstavljaju glavne ulaze hidroloških modela, pa su pouzdane analize prostornog i visinskog rasporeda kiša od presudnog uticaja na krajnje rezultate. Cilj ovog rada je da utvrdi da li je na prostoru Srbije opravdano vršiti korekcije padavina u funkciji promena nadmorske visine. Analize su obuhvatile podatke sa 26 glavnih meteoroloških stanica koje verno reprezentuju visinske odnose na prostoru čitave Srbije. U analize su uključeni podaci o prosečnim godišnjim padavinama, statistike (srednje vrednosti, koeficijenti varijacije i koeficijenti asimetrije) jakih kiša kratkih trajanja, kao i računske vrednosti jakih kiša povratnog perioda 100 godina (verovatnoće pojave 1%) za trajanja u rasponu od 10 minuta do 1 dan. Pored toga ispitana je i zavisnost prosečnih godišnjih padavina sa računskim jednodnevnim padavinama. Zaključeno je da globalno posmatrano na prostoru Srbije nema opravdanja da se uvode korekcije padavina sa nadmorskom visinom, a preporučeno da se kod modeliranja, korišćenjem maksimalno raspoloživih lokalnih podataka merenja, karakter veze ispita i utvrde relacije na svakom konkretnom slivu.

Cilj ovog rada je da utvrdi da li je na prostoru Srbije opravdano vršiti korekcije padavina u funkciji promena nadmorske visine. Analize su obuhvatile podatke sa 26 glavnih meteoroloških stanica koje verno reprezentuju visinske odnose na prostoru čitave Srbije. U analize su uključeni podaci o prosečnim godišnjim padavinama, statistike (srednje vrednosti, koeficijenti varijacije i koeficijenti asimetrije) jakih kiša kratkih trajanja, kao i računske vrednosti jakih kiša povratnog perioda 100 godina (verovatnoće pojave 1%) za trajanja u rasponu od 10 minuta do 1 dan. Pored toga ispitana je i zavisnost prosečnih godišnjih padavina sa računskim jednodnevnim padavinama. Zaključeno je da globalno posmatrano na prostoru Srbije nema opravdanja da se uvode korekcije padavina sa nadmorskom visinom, a preporučeno da se kod modeliranja, korišćenjem maksimalno raspoloživih lokalnih podataka merenja, karakter veze ispita i utvrde relacije na svakom konkretnom slivu.",

Umka landslide is complex active landslide whose activity intensifies in the periods of saturation by precipitation as well as sudden changes in the water levels of the Sava river. Course, direction and speed of displacement have been analysed based on automated GNSS monitoring results completed in the more than three years. Based on the results, Umka landslide is classified as complex, active, slow to very slow moving landslide.

AB  - In the present study the SHETRAN river basin modelling system was used in conjunction with Geographic Information System (GIS) to estimate potential erosion and deposition rates within the catchment and the concentrations of sediment in a flow at the catchment outlet on the example of the 114.31 km(2) mountainous torrential Lukovska River catchment in Serbia. The streams in the Lukovska River catchment are short, steep and often produce hazardous torrential floods as a consequence of strong rainfall of short duration. The soil erosion and sediment discharge were analysed in view of the catchment response to physical characteristics of the catchment. Considering that the most of total annual sediment discharge in watersheds of torrential character is achieved during storm events, the SHETRAN modelling system was calibrated on the example of a storm event in 1986 and validated for three other storm events in 1974, 1976 and 1979. The simulated results of discharges and sediment concentrations at the catchment outlet for both calibration and validation events were compared with the observed data and found to be reasonable. The changes of erosion and deposition rates within the catchment and in the course of time were estimated for the calibration event in 1986. The simulated erosion rates were within the range of 1 to 10.5 t/ha and corresponded to the observed rates of erosion in Europe during extreme rain events. The presented methodology is useful in identifying the erosion vulnerable regions in a catchment where erosion control measures should be implemented.

Marginal distributions of daily precipitation in Serbia

AB  - This paper presents a part of results of the continuous efforts of the authors to promote, improve and popularize structural analyses of daily hydrological and meteorological series, first introduced by professor Vujica Yevjevich The main objectives of this paper are: (1) to present a new method which allows the same approach to both meteorological and hydrological series analyses; (2) to determine, in a systematical and objective way, which is the best fitting distribution to describe marginal distributions of cumulative daily rainfall on 25 climatological stations in Serbia for reference period 1961-1990. As precipitation series are discrete stochastic series (with a lot of zero daily values), for the droughts analyses is common to use cumulative rainfall values. In this study cumulative rainfall for past 30, 60 and 90 days (updated daily) are analyzed. The ability of various two and three-parameter probability distributions to describe marginal distributions of cumulative daily precipitation series, and preliminary selection of candidate distributions was performed using L-moment diagrams. Further analysis has shown that neither of three-parameter distributions are suitable for modeling marginal distributions of cumulative daily precipitation over given range of time scales. Among two-parameter models, rival candidate distributions were gamma (GAM2) and Weibull (W2) distributions. The results of performed goodness of fit tests, (the mean absolute deviation - MAD, the root mean square deviation - RMSD and probability plot correlation coefficient - PPCC), showed that the most suitable model is GAM2.
AB  - Hidrološke i meteorološke serije su najčešće mešoviti procesi sastavljeni od determinističkih i stohastičkih komponenti. Ako se pretpostavi da tokom referentnog perioda (N=30 godina) mogu zanemariti trendovi usled globalnih promena, i da su promene kontinualne (da nema skokovitih promena), onda od determinističkih komponenti ostaju samo sezonske promene vezane za padavinski režim razmatranog područja. Opšte je poznato da se sezonske varijacije uspešno mogu modelirati primenom periodičnih funkcija (korišćenjem Fourierovih serija). Fundamentalne pretpostavke u ovom radu su: A. da sezonske promene (koje evidentno postoje u srednjim vrednostima) postoje i u svim ostalim parametrima (te da mogu modelirati primenom periodičnih funkcija); B. da se na osnovu modeliranih (periodičnih) vremenskih funkcija parametara dnevnih suma padavina stohastičke varijacije dnevnih padavina mogu modelirati primenom jedinstvenog modela za svih 365 marginalnih raspodela. Kao rezultat uvedenih pretpostavki dobijaju se glatke funkcije kvantila tokom hidrološke godine koje omogućavaju širok opseg primena: za analize i klasifikaciju padavinskih režima; za ranu detekciju sušnih i vlažnih perioda; za definisanje promenljivog praga kod analize suša; za analizu globalnih klimatskih promena, itd. Glavni ciljevi ovog članka su : (1) Da se prikaže nov metodološki pristup koji omogućava isti pristup kod analize meteoroloških i hidroloških serija (2) Da se na sistematičan i objektivan način utvrdi koja je teorijska funkcija raspodele najprihvatljivija za marginalne raspodele dnevnih suma padavina na 25 klimatoloških stanica u Srbiji za referentni period 1961-1990. godine. Kako su dnevne padavine prekidne stohastičke serije (sa puno vrednosti nula) analize su urađene za kumulativne kiše tokom 30, 60 i 90 dana. Analiziran je veći broj mogućih dvoparametarskih i troparametarskih raspodela. Preliminarni izbor izvršen je na osnovu dijagrama L-momenata i srednjih težinskih odstojanja (statistika AWOD). Detaljne analize su eliminisale sve troparametarske raspodele. Od dvoparametarskih raspodela kandidati su bili Gama (GAM2) I Weibulova (W2) raspodela Rangiranje na 25 analiziranih stanica uz primenu tri pokazatelja kvaliteta prilagođavanja (PPCC, RMSE i MAD ) su pokazala da je GAM2 raspodela najprihvatljivija.

Fundamentalne pretpostavke u ovom radu su: A. da sezonske promene (koje evidentno postoje u srednjim vrednostima) postoje i u svim ostalim parametrima (te da mogu modelirati primenom periodičnih funkcija); B. da se na osnovu modeliranih (periodičnih) vremenskih funkcija parametara dnevnih suma padavina stohastičke varijacije dnevnih padavina mogu modelirati primenom jedinstvenog modela za svih 365 marginalnih raspodela. Kao rezultat uvedenih pretpostavki dobijaju se glatke funkcije kvantila tokom hidrološke godine koje omogućavaju širok opseg primena: za analize i klasifikaciju padavinskih režima; za ranu detekciju sušnih i vlažnih perioda; za definisanje promenljivog praga kod analize suša; za analizu globalnih klimatskih promena, itd. Glavni ciljevi ovog članka su : (1) Da se prikaže nov metodološki pristup koji omogućava isti pristup kod analize meteoroloških i hidroloških serija (2) Da se na sistematičan i objektivan način utvrdi koja je teorijska funkcija raspodele najprihvatljivija za marginalne raspodele dnevnih suma padavina na 25 klimatoloških stanica u Srbiji za referentni period 1961-1990. godine. Kako su dnevne padavine prekidne stohastičke serije (sa puno vrednosti nula) analize su urađene za kumulativne kiše tokom 30, 60 i 90 dana. Analiziran je veći broj mogućih dvoparametarskih i troparametarskih raspodela. Preliminarni izbor izvršen je na osnovu dijagrama L-momenata i srednjih težinskih odstojanja (statistika AWOD). Detaljne analize su eliminisale sve troparametarske raspodele. Od dvoparametarskih raspodela kandidati su bili Gama (GAM2) I Weibulova (W2) raspodela Rangiranje na 25 analiziranih stanica uz primenu tri pokazatelja kvaliteta prilagođavanja (PPCC, RMSE i MAD ) su pokazala da je GAM2 raspodela najprihvatljivija.",

Advantages were demonstrated for the purposes of hydrological regime studies and droughts analyses. Methodology is based on TIPS method for structural analysis of daily hydrological series: (I) On the basis of observed daily flows series for N years, series of 365 daily values of a certain statistical parameter could be estimated (minima, maxima, conventional moments, L-moments, etc.) (II) Mutual dependence between series members in the original series introduces dependencies into derived series of statistical parameters, so it is possible to derive time functions which describe that dependence (III) Based on the established periodic functions of parameters 365 marginal probability distributions during the annual cycle could be derived. The main goal of this paper is the question of the selection of appropriate probability distribution type for marginal distributions of daily flows. Study is based on data from 33 representative profiles in Serbia and for the period till 2006. For the purpose of regional analyses and other applications referent period 1961- 1990 is selected for the marginal distribution studies. In the case of wide range of variation of skewness and kurtosis coefficients in the year, logical choice is a very flexible probability distribution. According to this, only three-parameter distributions were taken into the consideration. Possible three-parameter candidates are identified on the base of preliminary analysis of conventional moment ratio diagrams and L-moment ratio diagrams. Comparisons of distributions were evaluated using probability plot correlation coefficient (PPCC), and relative root mean square error (rRMSE) and condition that the lower boundary of distribution shouldn't be negative. The LP3 distribution perfomance is found to be the best.
AB  - Prethodne analize (Radić & Mihailović, 2006a, 2006b) koje su bile bazirane na novoj metodologiji, pokazale su prednosti analize kompletnih skupova dnevnih podataka u odnosu na mesečne ili karakteristične dnevne podatke. Prednosti su demonstrirane u studiji hidroloških režima i analizi suša. Metodologija je bazirana na primeni TIPS metode za strukturnu analizu dnevnih hidroloških serija: (I) Na bazi opaženih dnevnih proticaja za N godina, mogu se odrediti nizovi od po 365 vrednosti nekog statističkog parametra (minimuma, maksimuma, konvencionalnih momenata i L-momenata, itd.) (II) Međuzavisnost članova originalnog niza prenosi se i na izvedene nizove statističkih parametara, tako da se mogu definisati vremenske funkcije koje će opisati tu zavisnost (III) Na bazi izvedenih periodičnih funkcija parametara može se definisati 365 marginalnih funkcija raspodele tokom godišnjeg ciklusa. Osnovni cilj ovog rada je da razreši pitanje izbora tipa raspodele za definisanje marginalnih raspodela dnevnih proticaja. Studija je zasnovana na analizi podataka sa 33 reprezentativna profila sa teritorije Srbije. Zbog potrebe regionalnih analiza i drugih primena odabran je tridesetogodišnji referentni period (1961-1990.). Dnevni podaci imaju širok opseg varijacije koeficijenta asimetrije tokom godišnjeg ciklusa i u ovom slučaju je logičan izbor vrlo fleksibilna raspodela. Zbog toga su u obzir uzete samo troparametarske raspodele. Mogući kandidati među raspodelama su identifikovani u preliminarnoj analizi uz pomoć dijagrama konvencionalnih i L-momenata. Kandidati su rangirani na osnovu poređenja odstupanja modela od empirijskih podataka, na bazi koeficijenta korelacije dijagrama verovatnoće (PPCC) i korena iz relativne srednje kvadratne greške (rRMSE), uz uslov da donja granica raspodele ne bi trebalo da bude manja od nule. Analiza je pokazala da je, prema primenjenim kriterijumima, najbolja raspodela log-Pirson 3.

Comparative analysis of hydrological drought definition methods

AB  - Basic methodology of RUN and TIPS methods, developed and introduced by prof. V. Yevjevich, are presented in this paper. The application and practical aspects of the expanded versions of those methods to the drought event definition were presented, too. Presented results are limited to the qualitative and quantitative presentation of six methods for hydrological Streamflow droughts identification, based on fixed and varying thresholds. Methods have been tested on several representative catchments, but here are presented only results for River Velika Morava, st, Ljubičevski Most. In this way, drought regime for the large part of the central Serbia was included [11]. Methods were applied to the daily flows series. On the basis of daily flows series different (fixed or varying) crossing levels (thresholds) could be derived. For time series of defined threshold levels and observed series of daily flows, drought episodes of several months or several years could be identified, too. Newest methods in actual world researches of hydrological drought phenomena are presented in this paper, as well as new and original approaches and methods which were developed through National Water Program for Serbia (2004-2007). It is shown that some of newly introduced methods have significant advantages in comparison to present methods. .
AB  - U radu su predstavljene metodološke osnove RUN i TIPS metode uvedene u hidrološku praksu od strane Profesora Vujice Jevđevića, kao i praktični aspekti primene proširenih verzija ovih metoda pri definisanju suša. Prikazani rezultati su ograničeni na prikaz kvalitativnog i kvantitativnog poređenja 6 metoda za identifikaciju hidroloških suša površinskih vodabaziranih na fiksnim i promenljivim pragovima. Metode su testirane na većem broju reprezentativnih hidroloških profila na prostoru Srbije, a u okviru ovog rada su prikazani rezultati koji se odnose na profil "Ljubičevski Most" na reci Velika Morava čime je obuhvaćen režim pojava suša u većem delu centralne Srbije [l 1]. Osnovu za primenu prikazanih metoda čine dnevne serije proticaja. Na bazi dnevnih podataka iz referentnog perioda se mogu definisati različiti (konstantni ili promenljivi) pragovi presecanja. Za definisane vremenske serije pragova tokom hidrološke godine i opaženih dnevnih proticaja izdvajaju se sušne epizode koje se javljaju unutar jedne kalendarske godine ili se prenose iz godine u godinu. Na taj način moguće je registrovati i višemesečne suše koje se prenose iz godine u godinu kao i višegodišnje suše (ako postoje). Rad prikazuje najnovije metode iz oblasti aktuelnih istraživanja fenomena hidroloških suša koje se u svetu trenutno koriste, ali i promoviše nove i originalne pristupe i metode koji su razvijene u okviru Nacionalnog programa uređenja, zaštite i korišćenja voda u Srbiji (MNŽSRS, 2004-2007.). Pokazano je da upravo neke od ovih metoda pokazuju značajno poboljšanje u odnosu na postojeće metode. .

Theory and new applications of structure analyses of daily hydrologic series

AB  - Structure of daily hydrologic series, based on TIPS methodology (Yevjevich, 1984), is extended and new possibilities for stochastic analyses and applications are presented. First, estimation of smoothed time functions of statistics (mean, minimum, maximum, etc.) for each date in a hydrological year are derived. Periodic time functions are modeled by applying Fourier series analysis. It is shown that dimensionless time functions for main, minimum and maximum can be used for hydrological regime study and classifications. Method is demonstrated on daily data sets from 20 catchments. Data from Serbia and MED-HYCOS data-base are used. Hydrological regime differences between Mediterranean and continental climatic region are evident. In Serbia, clear distinction on hydrological regime exists between international river basins (Danube, Sava and Tisa river) and catchments at the central part of the country. Clear evidence of regime differences on separate international river basis in exists too. For the regional regime studies it is recommended that the same referent period of data can be adopted. That is important specially for the catchments with the largest flows variations (for example station "S.M. Di Cafiero", River Ofanto. Italy). Second, by applying smoothed time functions for statistics presentation, marginal distributions for each date can be derived. Concerning statistic function variations along hydrological year, it is assumed that unique (LP3) distribution can be applied. Marginal distributions, (derived on cited way), produce smoothed daily functions of probabilities of exceedance. Latest functions can be applied for catchment state behavior analyses (catchment moisture state behavior monitoring), for the purpose of droughts or floods analyses and flood and drought management. Some of cited applications are subject for the future work. By developing macro-programs in the EXCEL environment we make tools for easy derivation of periodic functions, automatic derivation of 365 marginal distributions and daily functions of probabilities of exceedance along hydrological year. In that way, complicated procedure for extended TIPS method application becomes available. So, we hope result presented in this paper will stimulate hydrologist to use TIPS method introduced by Prof. V. Yevjevich and more sophisticated stochastic models and to extract more information from available daily data sets of observed discharges.
AB  - U raspoloživoj literaturi postoji samo jedna knjiga koja se bavi strukturnim analizama kontinualnih vremenskih serija dnevnih vrednosti hidrometeoroloških podataka. To je knjiga prof. Vujice Jevđevića: "Structure of Daily Hydrologic Series" (Water Resources Publications, Fort Collins, Colorado, U.S.A.,1984). Tom knjigom prof. Jevdjević je zaokružio stvaralački opus vezan za stohastičke analize koje su decenijama predstavljale glavni domen njegovih interesovanja, istraživanja i predavanja koje je držao na svim kontinentima. U navedenoj knjizi on je metodu dekompozicije hidroloških serija, koja mu je donela svetsku slavu, bezbroj međunarodnih nagrada i priznanja, i po kojoj će njegovo ime ostati trajno zapamćeno, po prvi put nazvao TIPS metodom (skraćenica od prvih slova engleskih reci: Tendency-Intermitency-Periodicity-Stohasticity). Oblast primene TIPS metode (na kojoj je najviše radio prof. V. Jevđević) je simulacija (predviđanje mogućih stanja) realizacija vremenskih serija. Interesantno je napomenuti da je jedna od prvih primena TIPS metode (sredinim šezdesetih godina XX veka) bila simulacija smene ledenih i toplijih perioda godina na planeti Zemlji, što predstavlja kopču sa istraživanjima Milutina Milankovića - jednog od članova Komisije za odbranu doktorata VJevđevića u Srpskoj Akademiji Nauka i Umetnosti. Knjiga "Struktura dnevnih hidroloških serija" /Jevđević V., 19847 detaljno se bavi analizom strukturnih karakteristika dnevnih serija padavina i proticaja, kao i kraćim, teorijskim razmatranjima mogućnosti za primenu nekoliko teorijskih funkcija raspodela u modeliranju probabilističkih karakteristika dnevnih serija. U okviru ovog članka prikazano više proširenja metode strukturnih analiza dnevnih hidroloških serija: (1) Umesto na originalne podatke (osmotrene vrednosti dnevnih proticaja) TIPS metoda je primenjena na modeliranje 6 statističkih funkcija: minimuma, maksimuma, srednjih vrednosti, standardne devijacije, koeficijenta asimetrije i koeficijenta spljoštenosti (2) Pokazano je kako se metoda strukturne analize statističkih funkcija dnevnih proticaja može koristiti kao model za klasifikaciju hidroloških režima (3) Pokazano je kako se metoda strukturne analize statističkih funkcija dnevnih proticaja može koristiti pri određivanju 365 statističkih distribucija dnevnih proticaja i na bazi toga proizvesti tzv. abstract = "Structure of daily hydrologic series, based on TIPS methodology (Yevjevich, 1984), is extended and new possibilities for stochastic analyses and applications are presented. First, estimation of smoothed time functions of statistics (mean, minimum, maximum, etc.) for each date in a hydrological year are derived. Periodic time functions are modeled by applying Fourier series analysis. It is shown that dimensionless time functions for main, minimum and maximum can be used for hydrological regime study and classifications. Method is demonstrated on daily data sets from 20 catchments. Data from Serbia and MED-HYCOS data-base are used. Hydrological regime differences between Mediterranean and continental climatic region are evident. In Serbia, clear distinction on hydrological regime exists between international river basins (Danube, Sava and Tisa river) and catchments at the central part of the country. Clear evidence of regime differences on separate international river basis in exists too. For the regional regime studies it is recommended that the same referent period of data can be adopted. That is important specially for the catchments with the largest flows variations (for example station "S.M. Di Cafiero", River Ofanto. Italy). Second, by applying smoothed time functions for statistics presentation, marginal distributions for each date can be derived. Concerning statistic function variations along hydrological year, it is assumed that unique (LP3) distribution can be applied. Marginal distributions, (derived on cited way), produce smoothed daily functions of probabilities of exceedance. Latest functions can be applied for catchment state behavior analyses (catchment moisture state behavior monitoring), for the purpose of droughts or floods analyses and flood and drought management. Some of cited applications are subject for the future work. By developing macro-programs in the EXCEL environment we make tools for easy derivation of periodic functions, automatic derivation of 365 marginal distributions and daily functions of probabilities of exceedance along hydrological year. In that way, complicated procedure for extended TIPS method application becomes available. So, we hope result presented in this paper will stimulate hydrologist to use TIPS method introduced by Prof. V. Yevjevich and more sophisticated stochastic models and to extract more information from available daily data sets of observed discharges., U raspoloživoj literaturi postoji samo jedna knjiga koja se bavi strukturnim analizama kontinualnih vremenskih serija dnevnih vrednosti hidrometeoroloških podataka. To je knjiga prof. Vujice Jevđevića: "Structure of Daily Hydrologic Series" (Water Resources Publications, Fort Collins, Colorado, U.S.A.,1984). Tom knjigom prof. Jevdjević je zaokružio stvaralački opus vezan za stohastičke analize koje su decenijama predstavljale glavni domen njegovih interesovanja, istraživanja i predavanja koje je držao na svim kontinentima. U navedenoj knjizi on je metodu dekompozicije hidroloških serija, koja mu je donela svetsku slavu, bezbroj međunarodnih nagrada i priznanja, i po kojoj će njegovo ime ostati trajno zapamćeno, po prvi put nazvao TIPS metodom (skraćenica od prvih slova engleskih reci: Tendency-Intermitency-Periodicity-Stohasticity). Oblast primene TIPS metode (na kojoj je najviše radio prof. V. Jevđević) je simulacija (predviđanje mogućih stanja) realizacija vremenskih serija. Interesantno je napomenuti da je jedna od prvih primena TIPS metode (sredinim šezdesetih godina XX veka) bila simulacija smene ledenih i toplijih perioda godina na planeti Zemlji, što predstavlja kopču sa istraživanjima Milutina Milankovića - jednog od članova Komisije za odbranu doktorata VJevđevića u Srpskoj Akademiji Nauka i Umetnosti. Knjiga "Struktura dnevnih hidroloških serija" /Jevđević V., 19847 detaljno se bavi analizom strukturnih karakteristika dnevnih serija padavina i proticaja, kao i kraćim, teorijskim razmatranjima mogućnosti za primenu nekoliko teorijskih funkcija raspodela u modeliranju probabilističkih karakteristika dnevnih serija. U okviru ovog članka prikazano više proširenja metode strukturnih analiza dnevnih hidroloških serija: (1) Umesto na originalne podatke (osmotrene vrednosti dnevnih proticaja) TIPS metoda je primenjena na modeliranje 6 statističkih funkcija: minimuma, maksimuma, srednjih vrednosti, standardne devijacije, koeficijenta asimetrije i koeficijenta spljoštenosti (2) Pokazano je kako se metoda strukturne analize statističkih funkcija dnevnih proticaja može koristiti kao model za klasifikaciju hidroloških režima (3) Pokazano je kako se metoda strukturne analize statističkih funkcija dnevnih proticaja može koristiti pri određivanju 365 statističkih distribucija dnevnih proticaja i na bazi toga proizvesti tzv.
