AB  - The purpose of this paper is to address the critical issue of the shortage of mathematics teachers and professors in Serbia. The old teaching staff is drying up, and there is a lack of new teaching potential. The demoralization of current math teachers is an ongoing concern and as a result, hardly any student want to become math teacher. Soon we will only be able to realize that no one wants to teach mathematics anymore. We will focus on the causes and consequences of the perceived problem.

A note on r-circulant matrices involving generalized Narayana numbers

AB  - In order to further connect structured matrices and integer sequences, r-circulant matrices involving the generalized Narayana numbers are considered. Estimates for spectral norms bounds of such matrices are presented and their eigenvalues are determined. Moreover, the conditions under which the circulant matrix and the skew circulant matrix involving generalized Narayana numbers are invertible are given. In particular, it is shown that every circulant matrix with Narayana numbers is necessarily invertible.

AB  - In this talk, we establish a connection between some classical topics in applied mathematics - circulant matrices and the Chebyshev polynomials. First, we define circulant matrices whose entries are the Chebyshev polynomials of the first or second kind and examine their basic properties. Then we determine the bounds of the norms of such matrices. It turns out that the obtained results can be seen as the unification and generalization of many previously obtained results on circulant matrices involving the generalized Horadam numbers. We point out one direction of applications, but it is clear that there are many possibilities. With appropriate modifications, these results can be applied in different areas, such as - statistics, data approximation, interpolation, engineering, economics, signal and image processing, numerical analysis, physics and error correcting code theory, to name but a few.

AB  - In 1909 Milutin Milanković accepted the invitation of the Faculty of Philosophy of
the University of Belgrade and became a professor at the Department for Applied Mathematics.
"The Applied Mathematics Chair is my great desire. There I could find all the conditions to
develop my abilities and repay my people. I always appreciated mathematics as a wonderful
tool for solving the problems we face when studying nature and space", he explained his
decision. Unfortunately, very little is known about the teaching work of one of the greatest
scientists of all time. In this paper we will try to look at his lectures, based on the preserved
notes of one of his students, B. Pujić.

AB  - Let R be an associative unital ring and let a R be a strongly nil clean element. We introduce a new idea for examining the properties of these elements. This approach allows us to generalize some results on nil clean and strongly nil clean rings. Also, using this technique many previous proofs can be significantly shortened. Some shorter proofs concerning nil clean elements in rings in general, and in matrix rings in particular, are presented, together with some generalizations of these results.

AB  - To each commutative ring R one can associate the graph G(R), called the intersection
graph of ideals, whose vertices are nontrivial ideals of R. In this paper, we try to establish
some connections between commutative ring theory and graph theory, by study of the
genus of the intersection graph of ideals. We classify all graphs of genus 2 that are
intersection graphs of ideals of some commutative rings and obtain some lower bounds
for the genus of the intersection graph of ideals of a nonlocal commutative ring.

graph of ideals, whose vertices are nontrivial ideals of R. In this paper, we try to establish
