AB - A sustainable design based on biomimicry can still fulfill the functional needs of humans and be
visually satisfying by representing man's connection to nature. Biomorphic means life, living forms,
it’s often associated with organic shapes and patterns and it has its wide use in landscape
architecture. In the past few decades, there has been a great deal of progress in the study of natural systems as a means of developing contemporary design solutions. The biomimetic approach involves a close connection between biology and technology, which requires special attention because these are two areas that are fundamentally different. Biology is descriptive, broad, and variable, while technology is more numerical, with many guidelines and limitations. By this way, biomimetic as a design tool has so much potential that in the future it has yet to find comprehensive application in projects developed in the landscape architecture profession.
A design solution that uses biomimicry can be as highly stylized on different ways, but the
aesthetics will always be dictated by the perfect shapes of the nature. This reserch is inspired by the specific shape and unique beauty of the orchid flower. The study involves exploring the biomimetic pattern of a flower in its parametric modeling and its application in landscape design. This paper deals with the research of a species of the genus Phalaenopsis sp., it contains analysis of its natural form using a bionic pattern and parametric modeling of its flower. The result is the development of a conceptual solution for urban furniture designed for representative city areas. This part of the urban furniture is conceived as an organic and spontaneous structure of a beautiful orchid flower in the form of a unique city armchair.
The design of city furniture in urban areas plays one of the crucial roles in the process of shaping
the modern life, behavior and attitude of the contemporary urban humans towards the natural
environment. The application of biomimetic forms has a particular importance while constructing
an urban furniture, as it achieves the approach of the urban human to nature, and in some ways
restores their lost connection.
Applying a biomimetic approach could extend the role of landscape architecture like enhancing
shape, function and design processes as a primary initiator in collaborative, sustainable design.

AB - Many cities nowadays explore different circular designs as new sustainable city concepts in different urban aspects. The new trend, as part of the adaptation for climate change, is a strategy of increasing the number of urban open spaces, and circular plan design could be a sustainable approach to urban development. This paper provides a historical overview of various examples of circular objects containing built structures and open spaces from the Neolithic to the present. The Built-Up Area (BUA) and Open Space (OS) relationships are shown histogramically for 36 objects arranged chronologically. The morphospace analysis was performed to determine any possible regularity in the relationships of parts of circular objects. For the purpose of this research, three variables were chosen. First, all selected historical examples of circular objects were divided into two main categories: objects with a total diameter smaller than 300 m and objects with a total diameter bigger than 300 m. Additionally, the selected circular objects were divided by their type of open space to better understand their spatial position. The largest number of analyzed objects belongs to the Parks–Gardens category, followed by settlements, and then earth works, sacral objects and circular buildings, with the smallest number of circular objects being in the category of allotments and plazas. The second variable was Jam area and % of Jam. The buildings are of different sizes up to several hundred m2, and the areas range up to several hundred ha. The total area to OS ratio ranges from 0% (for Large Serdab) to 100% (for multiple objects). There is a similar situation with the diameter ratios (total and “jam”). Additionally, the final variable was the historical position of the selected circular objects. Circular objects belong to all historical periods from the Neolithic to the present. The aim of this research was to explore the relationship between OS and BUA in various circular objects with different diameters of open spaces and find out if there was any regularity in this relationship. The morphospace analysis of this research indicates that there is no clear regularity in the relationship between the built-up area and the open space, but the aspects and research results shown here contribute to sustainability since the circular design approach could play a key role in future circular design processes.

AB - At the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade, in the Descriptive geometry (DG) course,
non-obligatory workshops named “facultative task” are held for the three generations of freshman
students with the aim to give students the opportunity to get higher final grade on the exam. The
content of this workshop was a creative task, performed by a group of three students, offering free
choice of a topic, i.e. the geometric structure associated with some real or imagery
architectural/art-work object.
After the workshops a questionnaire (composed by the professors at the course) is given to the
students, in order to get their response on teaching/learning materials for the DG course and the
workshop. During the workshop students performed one of the common tests for testing spatial
abilities, named “paper folding".
Based on the results of the questionnairethe investigation of the linkages between:students’
final achievements and spatial abilities, as well as students’ expectations of their performance on
the exam, and how the students’ capacity to correctly estimate their grades were associated with
expected and final grades, is provided. The goal was to give an evidence that a creative work,
performed by a small group of students and self-assessment of their performances are a good way
of helping students to maintain motivation and to accomplish their achievement.
The final conclusion is addressed to the benefits of additional workshops employment in the
course, which confirmhigherfinal scores-grades, achievement of creative results (facultative tasks)
and confirmation of DG knowledge adaption.

AB - The contemporary design solutions are merging the boundaries between real and virtual world. The Landscape architecture like the other interdisciplinary field stepped in a contemporary technologies area focused on that, beside the good execution of works, designer solutions has to be more realistic and “touchable”. The opportunities provided by Virtual Reality are certainly not negligible, it is common knowledge that the designs in the world are already presented in this way so the Virtual Reality increasingly used.
Following the example of the application of virtual reality in landscape architecture, this paper deals with proposals for the use of virtual reality in landscape architecture so that designers, clients and users would have a virtual sense of scope e.g. rooftop garden, urban areas, parks, roads, etc. It is a programming language that creates a series of images creating a whole, so
certain parts can be controlled or even modified in VR. Virtual reality today requires a specific gadget, such as Occulus, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR and similar.
The aim of this paper is to acquire new theoretical and practical knowledge in the
interdisciplinary field of virtual reality, the ability to display using virtual reality methods, and to present through a brief overview the plant species used in the design and construction of an intensive roof garden in a Mediterranean climate, the basic characteristics of roofing gardens as well as the benefits they carry.
Virtual and augmented reality as technology is a very powerful tool for landscape architects, when modeling roof gardens, parks, and urban areas. One of the most popular technologies used by landscape architects is Google Tilt Brush, which enables fast modeling. The Google Tilt Brush VR app allows modeling in three-dimensional virtual space using a palette to work with the use of a three dimensional brush.
The terms of two "programmed" realities - virtual reality and augmented reality - are often confused. One thing they have in common, though, is VRML - Virtual Reality Modeling Language.
In this paper are shown the ways on which this issue can be solved and by the way, get closer the term of Virtual Reality (VR), also all the opportunities which the Virtual reality offered us. As well, in this paper are shown the conditions of Mediterranean climate, the conceptual solution and the plant species which will be used by execution of intensive green roof on the motel “Marković”.

AB - This project reveals surveying data and architectural design of the major church in the Studenica monastery complex in Serbia reflected in a variety of 3D models and the analysis of the church interior and exterior. Architecture-driven computational parametric modeling was done by using two types of data: close range photogrammetry and high precision laser scanning. The modeling, based on geometric parameters and other planimetric and volumetric analysis, is devised
during the four-year study as part of the project Parametric Research of the Studenica Church, a UNESCO Heritage Site, as a Model for Advanced Studies of Medieval Architecture. These models allow for better understanding and representation of the proportional, aesthetic and illumination qualities of the Studenica church and for prototyping procedures for examining other medieval domed churches where we lack more detailed references about their architectural design.

AB - The use of proportions is one of the oldest theoretical issues in architecture. However, sometimes geometry, with its specific shapes and constraints
between them, can fully describe the logic of architectural design. This paper
presents geometric proportional schemas of the Serbian medieval church of the
monastery Ljubostinja (built around 1387), the representative of so-called Morava
architectural style.
The research is partly based on Ivo Štambuk’s proportional canon, which he applied on several churches, in wider Mediterranean region during prolonged period of time (4th to 15th c.). Štambuk’s proportional canon is based on two circles and one equilateral triangle constrained to each other and set relative to characteristic points of the church plan and cross-section, above all the location of the altar and the center of the church dome. By adding principles of triangulation and dynamic rectangles, this paper demonstrates more precise proportional model of the church plan and the cross-section through the dome. Results show that the proportions of the Ljubostinja’s church can be interpreted by dynamic rectangles (their diagonals are square roots of full numbers) with ratios 1:√2, 1:√3, 1:√5 and, in addition, by specific scheme of equilateral triangles which are constrained to the characteristic points of the church space: center point of the apse and the dome.

It was organized at the Faculty classrooms during two days, such that a group of students (three students) works on a creative geometry task, within given conditions. Starting from free choice of an existing or imagery type of architectural structure (a whole building or its roofng structure) students should provide its geometric interpretation of orthogonal projections on a 3D physical model of coordinate system -1; 3D model in Auto-CAD sofware (the alternative is cardboard model) - 2; presentation of a structure in 3D augmented reality application “Augment” – 3; visual appearance of a structure in architecture/design (a photo image) -4; poster summary of the sub-tasks – 5. The satisfactory completion of a task would enable a student to get higher grade in the fnal exam at Descriptive geometry course.
Based on the results of additional questionnaire administered to the participants at the end of the workshop, besides good achievement, creativity, self-confdence and high-quality teamwork signifcantly contribute to overall satisfaction of students.

AB - Biodesign means life, living forms, it’s often associated with organic shapes and patterns and it has its wide use in landscape architecture. A design solution that uses biomimicry can be as highly stylized on different ways, but the aesthetics will always be dictated by the perfect shapes of the nature. This research is inspired by the specific shape and unique beauty of the orchid flower.

AB - The contemporary design solutions are merging the boundaries between real and virtual
world. The Landscape architecture like the other interdisciplinary field stepped in a contemporary
technologies area focused on that, beside the good execution of works, designer solutions has to be more realistic and “touchable”. The opportunities provided by Virtual Reality are certainly not
negligible, it is common knowledge that the designs in the world are already presented in this way
so the Virtual Reality increasingly used.
Following the example of the application of virtual reality in landscape architecture, this
paper deals with proposals for the use of virtual reality in landscape architecture so that designers,
clients and users would have a virtual sense of scope e.g. rooftop garden, urban areas, parks,
roads, etc. It is a programming language that creates a series of images creating a whole, so
certain parts can be controlled or even modified in VR. Virtual reality today requires a specific
gadget, such as Occulus, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR and similar.
The aim of this paper is to acquire new theoretical and practical knowledge in the
interdisciplinary field of virtual reality, the ability to display using virtual reality methods, and to
present through a brief overview the plant species used in the design and construction of an
intensive roof garden in a Mediterranean climate, the basic characteristics of roofing gardens as
well as the benefits they carry.
Virtual and augmented reality as technology is a very powerful tool for landscape architects,
when modeling roof gardens, parks, and urban areas. One of the most popular technologies used by landscape architects is Google Tilt Brush, which enables fast modeling. The Google Tilt Brush VR app allows modeling in three-dimensional virtual space using a palette to work with the use of a three-dimensional brush.
The terms of two "programmed" realities - virtual reality and augmented reality - are often
confused. One thing they have in common, though, is VRML - Virtual Reality Modeling Language.
In this paper are shown the ways on which this issue can be solved and by the way, get closer
the term of Virtual Reality (VR), also all the opportunities which the Virtual reality offered us. As
well, in this paper are shown the conditions of Mediterranean climate, the conceptual solution and
the plant species which will be used by execution of intensive green roof on the motel “Marković”.

AB - This paper deals with the linear free vibration analysis of Bernoulli–Euler and Rayleigh curved beams using isogeometric approach. The geometry of the beam as well as the displacement field are defined using the NURBS basis functions which present the basic concept of the isogeometric analysis. A novel approach based on the fundamental relations of the differential geometry and Cauchy continuum beam model is presented and applied to derive the stiffness and consistent mass matrices of the corresponding spatial curved beam element. In the Bernoulli–Euler beam element only translational and torsional inertia are taken into account, while the Rayleigh beam element takes all inertial terms into consideration. Due to their formulation, isogeometric beam elements can be used for the dynamic analysis of spatial curved beams. Several illustrative examples have been chosen in order to check the convergence and accuracy of the proposed method. The results have been compared with the available data from the literature as well as with the finite element solutions.

AB - Serbian medieval architectural heritage is notable for its sacred architecture including numerous Christian Orthodox churches built at the territory of former Raška state during the period from the 12th to the 14th centuries. Built in the so-called Raška architectural style, characterized by overlapping features of Romanesque and Byzantine traditions, two monuments—the church of the Mother of God in Studenica monastery complex and the church of Holy Dormition in Žiča monastery complex, are exquisite sacred structures and cultural monuments of exceptional importance. They are also remarkable due to geometric-proportional regularities of their design. This paper highlights the importance of geometric concept in relation to proportional analysis of these two structures. Here presented study is conducted by two means: first one—by investigating geometric scheme with equilateral triangles, incorporated into the layout and cross section patterns of each church structure; the second one—by classical proportioning that includes proportional roots, golden section and numeric ratios.

AB - Classical Descriptive Geometry (DG) course used 2D drawings for 3D spatial elements representation. Computer graphic introduced simulation of a 3D geometric environment in contemporary DG teaching. Research aim is the impact of CAD models utilization in correlation to students’ overall academic success. The research was performed on the freshmen students at Civil Engineering Faculty of Belgrade University. DG lecturing combines blackboard drawings, PowerPoint presentations and 3D AutoCAD models. Preparation of practices assumed handouts - AutoCAD solutions, both 2D drawings and 3D models available at the official Faculty's website. Paper based questionnaire was employed after the first examination term. The results show significant contribution to the students' achievement with 3D models assistance introduction in DG teaching/learning process.

The results show significant contribution to the students' achievement with 3D models assistance introduction in DG teaching/learning process.",

AB - In this paper, an analysis of three Serbian medieval Raška churches highlights the significance of the interaction of regular geometric shapes in the composition of their underlying proportional scheme. The complex geometry recognised in the layouts and cross-sections of these monastery churches points to the potential use of a unique triangular proportioning system. This proportional system is derived from the initial geometry of Štambuk's proportional canon, which employs two circles constrained by an equilateral triangle in a specific setting. As the essence of religious medieval structures is often related to their interior, in this paper 3D empty space moulds are created by the parametric modelling of each element of the structure. This research shows how the variation of the two critical points of the church interior, the centres of the dome and of the main apse, along with the key triangles incorporated in the proportional scheme, affect the final 3D structural model.

AB - Serbian medieval architectural heritage is notable for its sacred architecture including numerous Christian Orthodox churches built at the territory of former Raška state during the period from the 12th to the 14th centuries. Builtin the so-called Raška architectural style, characterized by overlapping features of Romanesque and Byzantine traditions, two monuments - the church of the
Mother of God in Studenica monastery complex and the church of Holy Dormition in Žiča monastery complex, are exquisite sacred structures and cultural monuments of exceptional importance. They are also remarkable due to geometric-proportional regularities of their design. This paper highlights the importance of geometric concept in relation to proportional analysis of these two structures. Here presented study is conducted by two means: first one – by investigating
geometric scheme with equilateral triangles, incorporated into the layout and cross section patterns of each church structure; the second one – by classical proportioning that includes proportional roots, golden section and numeric ratios.

AB - The aim of this research was to apply parametric modeling as appropriate geometric tool in landscape architecture design. Nature model used as inspiration in designing process was flower of the species bell flower (Campanula persicifolia L.), which could be found in Querco-Fagetea and Quercetalia pubescentis forest type. In profession of landscape architecture, this species can be used as a decorative because of its special form of the flower. The applied method of work included three main steps: field research and collection of plant material, generation of a geometric pattern using the geometric methods of Delaunay triangulation and the Voronoi
diagram through the 3D Studio Max software and modeling its‘ biomorphic form that can be combined in different ways giving completely new solutions. Biomorphic form of the flower of selected species was obtained by using different vertexes as parameters in design modeling process. Parametric modeling today is an integral part of every 3D modeling software. This type of modeling involves defining and manipulating specific parameters that defines a created model. Result of this parametric modeling method was conceptual urban design model - bench.
Some of new trends that designing urban spaces seeks is creating sustainable urban environment that strengthens the connection between people and nature in domains of aesthetics. This new and innovative urban element of public space could be the part of the new approach towards sustainable urban design.

AB - In this paper, we address the challenge of overcoming the problem of developing doubly curved surfaces in product design. Product design uses two kinds of surfaces, developable surfaces and non-developable surfaces, which are also called singly and doubly curved surfaces, respectively. A developable surface has zero Gaussian curvature at all points, while a non-developable surface has non-zero Gaussian curvature at least in some region. Surfaces of many product design object are commonly created as doubly curved shapes to meet requirements of structure and aesthetic. The problem of creating the planar development of 3D surfaces with double curvature in the product design depends on the shape of the surface and the material of the surface cover. Therefore, the method of deriving a pattern is different when external forces are used in order to generate the plane patterns such as paper strips from the case when the plane shape can stretch or deform to fit on the 3D surface. Given a three-dimensional object surface, the first step of the fabrication process is flattening or planar development of this surface into a planar shape so that the manufacturer can not only determine the initial shape of the object but also estimate the strain distribution required to form the shape depending on a material. The paper is analysing and rationalizing doubly curved surface of a given shape by multiple strips of paper glued onto a surface. Results are addressing possibilities of achieving an overall smooth surface and developing a model for the generation of curvature continuous surfaces composed of paper strip surfaces, as well as generating alternative solutions that are in the domain of contemporary product design. The paper illustrates usability and different variations of the proposed design.

The paper illustrates usability and different variations of the proposed design., Ovaj rad se bavi mogućnošću prevazilaženja problema razvijanja u ravan dvostruko zakrivljenih površi u procesu dizajniranja proizvoda.

AB - The goal of this paper is to demonstrate the various models of perspective anamorphosis used in the visual arts, which are also applicable to stage design. Through comparative analysis, borderline conditions emerge through which certain perspective models assume traits of anamorphosis, as well as conditions for their use in stage design. The idea is to provide practical instructions which are usable on the stage. This effort saw the use of constructive perspective methods, projective and descriptive geometry, while retaining a pictorial and an optical-physiological perspective. The examples of stage design that are shown in the paper are mostly from the National Theatre in Belgrade, the oldest theatre in Belgrade, and an institution that collaborates with the Faculty of Applied Arts. The perspective models of anamorphosis, analysed here, were chosen according to the unique features of the stage and its elements, which include: a perspective image projected on multiple planes, relief perspective as the anamorphosis of space, and the cylindrical perspective.

AB - This paper analyzes the phenomenon of spatial functionalities for garden cultural heritage design and the relationships between the sizes of the sections and elements of the baroque garden of Vaux-leVicomte and the specific visual phenomenon, anamorphosis abscondita, that was used in the design of this garden. The interpretation of the optical illusions in the garden of Vaux-le-Vicomte was achieved by using geometrical analysis of the rules of linear perspective. The anamorphosis abscondita was examined through the viewpoints of the garden using the ground plan and longitudinal section of the garden, photographs and a virtual 3D model. The visual impression of the phenomenon anamorphosis abscondita formed in the eye of the observer, in relation to the reality of the garden, is confirmed through the geometrical analysis. Anamorphosis abscondita introduces a compulsory perceptual path to the observer of the garden. This pattern of deformation in certain parts of the garden creates in the viewer's eye a sense of infinity in space. The 3D scene of the garden is characterised by a large amount of spatial and visual information, which is located at different distances from the observer. The quality of visual information in such a space leads to a change of the object of interest. Perspectives and optical illusions influence the design of the garden at Vaux-le-Vicomte, and the terraces and axes of symmetry are important tools in its spatial organization. The axis of symmetry contributes to the clarity, depth and order of composition. The parameters that influence the phenomenon of anamorphosis (distortion): the height of the eye point and the distance both affect the visual illusion of the change in size (depth of scene).
